Trumps promises have been appealing to many, and I agree that his promises can be tempting. But if we are willing to look the other way while thousands of people who have struggled to pull themselves up from the trenches are thrown back into the pit, we are no better than any of our great evil villains in history.

LBJ and his administration fought and clawed to save the Civil Rights Act from being thrown out, so that we might have a chance at a better world. The America I know and love has no interest in the sabotage of women's rights, gay rights, black rights, Muslim rights... and so on.

Let's come together. Don't let the hard work of our predecessors be for naught.

First let me say, I think you are a very astute young lady, however, your wording of the "darkness" of new President, certainly sounds as though it comes right out of the annals of the Liberal Media and Academia.. I do believe that we as a society owe it to ourselves and to the generations that come after us, the need to seek out information from both sides or the opposing side as that is where we learn from

Do we really want to be like Europe and have people invade our countries with no regard for our directives. Laws are the buttress to any home, country, continent etc, without laws any home, country, continent will fail and fall.

"The brink of disaster"? It certainly did not happen because of President Trump being in office for 21/2 weeks. "Brink of disaster" comes from years of preceding misdeeds (whether purposefully or not) by our government.

"People pulling themselves out of the trenches"? Maybe these people ought to learn to fight for their own country instead of being like the "subjects" aka people here who wish for someone else aka taxpayers to take care of them. Learn to take responsibility for oneself instead of blaming everyone else and expecting everyone to take care of them.

It sounds to me that the "America you know" is from the Media and Academia (which has been encroaching itself upon our children for the past 40 years).

Hopefully redundancy doesn't set in as I do recognize I said earlier maybe in little different wording that I think it is always advisable to try to look at the "opposing side" after any major occurrence in politics to see if there might be something that can be incorporated into our thinking/viewpoint as I do recognize that all sides have good and bad theories to factor into any and all critical thinking.
