That was literally the extent of my own "sex education" during my formative years. I learned everything I know about sex "on the street" which is terrifying and so unsafe. I count myself damn lucky indeed that I never caught anything in my younger years.

Dear V
The post before this had me thinking again how well thought out your posts have been. However you start your point degrading the south and besmirching
Their religious practices?
I don't find it surprising that here in Israel where antiquated religious......
I don't find it surprising that here in Saudi where antiquated religious ideals......
I don't find it surprising that here in South Hampton where antiquated.......
Chistians ( especially southern) are fair game while every other religious
Group is shown a certain amount of respect.
As far as the Sex Ed that is another kettle of fish.
If tolerance and understanding are the order of the day everyone is
Included. If not ...... Well then you are just a politically incorrect
Bastard like the rest of us
Hope All is well with you

Part of the op was about STI's being higher in the South, so I gave my opinion of why I think that is. If we want to bring up a discussion about other parts of the world, then sure, I can give my opinions on that as well.
I never hide the fact that I am a liberal and vote democrat, although it might not necessarily be something I bring up during a session as there is no context for it. "Never discuss politics or religion over dinner."
This was a specific post so I brought in some of my opinions.
I can't get insurance to go see the gyno, because the Texas legislator has blocked it; they have blocked it due to religious beliefs about abortion.
I don't have a problem with what anyone chooses to believe in. I do have a problem when those beliefs come into play in politics and laws/bills are passed based solely on those religious beliefs. We are supposed to have separation of church and state, but in this state we do not.
I also have a problem when because of those religious beliefs children are being taught to purely "abstain" from sex and are not being given the proper education about it. Again, education and what programs are in place being mandated by the gov't.
I was raised in a very strict Christian home and was told I would go to hell if I had sex before marriage and so was given none of the proper information about it. I find that sad.
Those are my opinions. They are not meant to offend anyone's personal's beliefs. If it does, it was not my intention. I can be happy and agree to disagree, but others may not feel the same way.
If that be the case, then so be it.

Victoria
In the fine print that study says the south is Washington DC, Delaware ,
Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia Among others.
Not exactly southern or RED states
"The dirty little secret about freedom is that it is hard".
Not a popular quote because it is the oldest inconveinient truth in America.
Not meaning to pick a fight but tolerance for all means tolerance for all.
And yes I appreciate you expressing your opinion

Yes, and as said, I do have tolerance for all; but I do not for a gov't that allows personal religious belief to dictate law, especially when that law affects me negatively on a personal level. It is not fair that I cannot receive the medical care I need in this country, because I live in a state that doesn't think it is ok to help women pay for it. I can receive it, mind you, but will paying a pretty penny for the privilege.
I remember when I lived in CA and also London, and I got everything for free (minus income tax.)
Anywhos, I am not angry or picking a fight either. Just responding back with my thoughts and even more opinions. That is what debate is all about.

Not only did you have your facts completely convoluted, but basically taunted me as well to "respond" like a school yard bully. I've never used the RTM button in 8 years for anyone, until now.
Threats and taunts are completely unacceptable and show everyone just what type of lowly man you truly are.

Just on this point, at least here in the US, Christians (especially the more conservative ones) get more criticism simply because that's the predominant religion here. It's also generally the more conservative sects that push for restricting rights to other groups, so that also draws more attention to their actions.
But yes, other religions around the world also do plenty of terrible stuff to people (take Islam in Africa, etc.).
============================== ============================
But to go back on topic, regarding the opening post, realistically, gay men don't pose any real threat to heterosexual hobbyists unless the hobbyist is secretly gay and goes out and as sex with other gay men. There's really very little overlap between the gay and heterosexual groups in terms of who they have sex with. Bisexual male/females, sure there will be some overlap there.

All of you stfu re: politics and religion. The USA is not perfect but it is clearly awesome enough for each of you in a way that has you still here.

Provider Advice - never talk (your) religion and politics- clients just don't want to hear that shit, they only want to hear theirs.
As pete would say, this thread is about diviant sexual lifestyles, races and risk variables with racists bigoted under tones. Carry on!
