Calls in the game ARE part of the game and we did benefit from the call in the Detroit game but I have to say that was a catch. Find the video of the famous Calvin Johnson catch. Johnson didn't end up with the ball in his hands ! That's what the rule is about. Des makes the catch the ball moves as he lunges towards the goal line but he squeezes the ball to his shoulder and then controls the ball to complete the catch. The game is over , we lost and I'm not a whiner but it was a catch because the video clearly shows he finished with the ball in his hands.

Well the Cowboys Suck......They were literally beaten by a one legged quarterback.......If Aaron Rodgers had been better pertaining to running ability that game could of been a lot worse for the Cowboys......Boo hoo is all one hears or wait until next year, look how many years it took them to get this far....

Pretty funny the way it all turned out, they should be selling t-shirts that say the Cowboys Suck......TV' s are on sale at Wal-Mart for the team......

Maybe they should call this one The Zebra Bowl.

They ruled an earlier catch by a Green Bay player a "catch" when the reply clearly showed the nose of the ball touching the ground before he had possession.

The ref that called Dez's catch a catch was on the side where Dez had the ball...he CLEARLY SAW how Dez was handling the ball. Dez took three steps (falling on the third one) and the ground caused the fumble...which it can't. How many fuckin steps do you have to take to say he caught it before he hits the ground? Was it the steps weren't "pretty" enough?

Shitty end to a good season. The only call I had a problem with was that 3rd and 1 at the end of the first half. You run it there and if you don't pick it up you attempt a field goal with little time on the clock. Then the defense gives up a sideline pass to help GB kick a field goal. Murray fumbles, they couldn't pick up that fumbled kick off, they gave up a 3rd and 15 for a TD. A lot of missed ops and no pressure on Rodgers. That was a bullshit call on Dez but they still had a chance to stop GB and couldn't do it. I think Dallas matched up good against Seattle-don't know if they could have beaten them..GB is going to get their ass kicked by Seattle. A lot of players and coaches are free. Hopefully they can keep/replace some of them and get some good Defensive players in the draft.

Stupid rule, but alas the rule does state the ground can cause an incomplete pass.

Willing to bet this gets changed in the off season.

Just a couple of comments about some comments. NO this crew was "an all-star" crew made up of the best at each position and not one that is used to working together. HOWEVER, that is exactly one of the excuses used last weekend as for the reason THE FLAG WAS PICKED UP. If the ref who threw that flag would have had any guts he would have told the official who wanted to pick up the flag, "sorry, but I had a very good view of the play and it was pass interference and I am not going to pick up the flag" But he didn't so the Cowgirls moved on. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, the Cowgirl fans want to whine. But as my pappy used to say "what goes around comes around" and in this case maybe it did, although according to the rules as written today he did not maintain control all the way to the ground. EOS

That was a shitty call, but it shouldn't come down to that. Anyway, Seattle - Dallas would've been a better game. Oh well.

That's fine, Bolt. Don't get me wrong; I'm not singling you out (but) your comment gave me food for thought per this issue.

First, look at the footage. Several angles (cameras) were provided; we've all seen them. And not one ever shows the ball and ground coming in contact with one another. Blandino "surmised" this was the cause / reason....but he couldn't possibly have known for certain simply because the footage wasn't there to see and verify that claim.

I challenge Blandino to show the world one frame on film where the ball and ground are making contact at any time the ball's in Dez's outstretched hand (we've all heard his explanation after making his decision on this play.....he explained the ball hitting the ground was what jarred the ball momentarily as Dez rolled before gathering it back in).

All one can see is Dez's gloved hand cradling the ball the entire way once he made the initial catch (with both hands) then stretching forward (with the ball in one hand). The very act he's stretching out to the end zone marker (while attempting to stabilize himself with his right hand so as to not be counted as "down") would constitute a "football move" was being attempted (not the explanation he was in the "natural" act of falling to the turf from his timed jump).

How far do you have to run, hit the ground and lose the ball before it's declared a complete or incomplete pass? 5 steps? 15? 30?

NFL explains what constitutes a catch and moves that are common to the game.

After catching the ball, the receiver must thrust his hand in his left pocket and grab his manhood while smiling at the ref. He then must go over to the defender and slap him on the butt and receive a but slap from the defender. At that point it is considered a catch and he may advance the ball.

Hey I agree with you guys, so does most every human being who watched the game. I guarantee the GB coach thought it was a desperate challenge with little hope of succeeding.

But the rule allows for subjective interpretation of a football move. Sucks when the people making the interpretation can't fathom how athletic these guys really can be.

Especially when they do not catch the ball.
