I tried the American Legion and VFW thing, I just can't get into the scene.

I had thought Lowe's was more. I returned a purchase there this past summer, it was a big expense I was leery of in the first place, but I also didn't want to pay so much more than my father-in-law, a very wealthy veteran who never left Biloxi during his service, would have to. He offered to go with me and get the discount, but I didn't want to play that way. When I was in retail, I would have matched the discount if politely asked. I gave Lowe's that option and they accepted the return. It was not an item I really needed I am glad I don't have today.
Serious question I do not know:
"They offer an all day, every day 10 percent discount to all military personnel who are active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members, with a valid, government-issued military ID card.
All other military veterans will receive the discount on the Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day weekends."
What are the 'other' vets not included in active, reserve, retired, or disabled?
