Stroke Symptoms
If you think someone may be having a stroke, act F.A.S.T. and do this simple test:
Act F.A.S.T.
FACE
Ask the person to smile.
Does one side of the face droop?
ARMS
Ask the person to raise both arms.
Does one arm drift downward?
SPEECH
Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence.
Are the words slurred? Can he/she repeat the sentence correctly?
TIME
If the person shows any of these symptoms, time is important.
Call 911 or get to the hospital fast. Brain cells are dying.
Stroke Symptoms include:
SUDDEN numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg - especially on one side of the body.
SUDDEN confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
SUDDEN trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
SUDDEN trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
SUDDEN severe headache with no known cause.

Well, that kind of sucks... I wonder how he will explain the stroke to friends & family? And who will he say took him to the hospital? A good samaritan?

Since he has no family in Texas and he clearly was away from his friends while in the session, he can say whatever he wants. There's nobody there to call him on anything. He can say he had in in the grocery store, at the bus stop, in line at McDonalds, taking a dump in a public restroom, while jogging, while getting a haircut, walking across the parking lot at Home Depot, anything, and that a kind stranger that he can't really remember and didn't leave behind any identifying information helped him get to the hospital. Such a loss of short-term memory for events immediately around the time of the stroke is not uncommon. It is, after all, a severe closed head brain injury, more damaging and life-threatening than a concussion and nobody would find some short-term memory loss unusual in a concussion. The severity of the injury is often overlooked because there's no violent blows or pain usually associated with the onset of a stroke.

Watch out for the warning signs.
Just because they don't have all of the warning signs doesn't mean it isn't a stroke. They may have one of the warning signs and none of the others. They may have none of the ones on the list.
They can also have one of the signs, then apparently get better, and still be having a stroke.
The warning signs mean "call 911." The lack of warning signs doesn't mean "all clear."
