Is YMMV reality or an excuse?

I thought the relationship with my 1st S.O. was YMMV. But her 3 other husbands convinced me that wasn't true. There have only been a couple of ymmv dates for me, but I never thought of the experience as her fault.

My answer to the OPs question is that it is both a reality and an excuse.

There are providers out there that seem to me all money oriented and therefore rely on the excuse of YMMV to validate their lack of professionalism. If the guy shows up unhygienic, the provider should be able to tell them to take a shower or IMO the more professional way is to take him into the shower making it fun and getting him clean as well. A professional provider should be able to give most any guy a good time in some sort of fashion (whether making everything covered or such).

Now I also see many instances where YMMV is reality. I have had so many instances where the provider tells me how much they appreciate that I have treated them right. I have had several instances where the provider told me not to tell others that she will do this or that but she really wants to do it with me. Maybe because it is my intention to always treat her like a lady and make sure she gets her O's before mine (stopping only after she asks me to stop). And on the flip side, I seen a couple ladies that had amazing reviews and the minute we started in, it just wasn't working.

What gets me off is when she is having a good time and if it feels like she is just performing for me, then my little guy just won't come out or stay out and play. I have been able to prove this recently because I was with a provider and things just weren't working well. We stopped and talked a bit and I asked her if she was enjoying herself. Her response was that she was trying for me to get mine. I told her to not worry about me and do what she wanted to get hers and I will be there. We started up again and it was a night and day difference. Super amazing. She came over and over and I got there soon after. So even inside the one session the YMMV played out both ways.

Ok here is recent example of YMMV with me.

Date 1. Nice, respectful, clean cut gentleman books afternoon 1h date with me at my incall. He has to get back to the office afterwards. I have dinner plans.

What happens? He gets great 1h GFE date and wobbles out wondering how he is going to get any work done back in office.

Date 2. Visitor from out of town books late eve outcall to his hotel. We meet for cocktails first, discover that we both have a lot in common as far as cultural interests. He is fellow European and in creative field. Nice bottle of champagne is waiting for us in his room. Couple of hours later there is "oh fuck it .. i dont care if my hair gets wet while we go at it in the shower" moment.

Would it be reasonable for Date 1 expect same "mileage" as Date 2?

Sounds like all date number one should have done was send you a bottle of champagne to knock back while you were waiting on him. Then he too coulda gotten the GFshower experience

For the rest of you, from the time a lady arrives at one of my dates, the only time it has been more than an hour since I have thoroughly showered, shaved, brushed my teeth, gargled and been fresh as a daisy, are the times the lady has been late. JB, I resent the implication.

And I really do think some ladies are just lazy. And the service goes down because they are lazy.

And I think some ladies (despite what they say) do rush a session.

And I have decided that YMMV really is somewhat of an excuse with a lot of ladies. But I also think it has a basis in reality, especially when it comes to "chemistry" and the like that others have mentioned. But there is a big difference between providing stellar service and "chemistry." A lady can still provide a really good session if you don't click, IMHO.

I also think that my expectations may be higher than other hobbyists. Ladies often state they prefer "mature" gentlemen. I have strongly suspected that the reason a lot of ladies say that is because they don't want to get pounded in the way a young stud can do so. Also, they think older gents treat them better. And while that may be, older gents like me may expect to be treated better in return, and we become disillusioned when it doesn't happen. Another reason, I suspect, that ladies prefer "mature" gentlemen is that they don't bargain the payment. Or tend to leave less than the full donation.

So, between the respect, the easy fuck, and not haggling over the donation, a "mature" date is an easy date. And generally, the "mature" date may forgive "little" things and walk away from a session thanking his lucky stars. But I guess my standards are a little higher than that. When the little things don't occur, I tend to chalk it up to poor service.

And everyone else seems to think my mileage just varies. And because I'm just a little critical, they say it's my attitude.

Actually, when I go to a restaurant I expect stellar service from the wait staff. And if I get it, the tip goes up. But the overall expense in a restaurant is much less than the hobby, even though wait service tends to be either good or excellent. I have gotten stellar service in the hobby, but it's not the norm.

Chas, sometimes taking a shower isn't enough to improve your mileage....that is kind of the price of entry...

& to others that associate "mileage" with "menu" -- not so in my case .... it isn't like she let me do xyz and said don't tell anyone b/c she "doesn't do that for anyone else." For me when I get high mileage it is more about an overall great quality of session.

Exactly; dates with the same lady can be completely different given energy levels, life distractions, etc. YMMV exists between the same 2 people.

On serious note, YMMV and it DOES vary. Good companions will always provide stellar service, but occasionally there will be a session where patron will get more simply because we are human and respond to each particular situation differently.

Maybe we should designate YMMV + and YMMV - to describe situations where YMMV results in exceptional and substandard experiences respectively.

Most folks on here are using the examples of BO, bad breath, cleanliness, etc...because they are less personal and more easily fixable. Talking about ones demeanor or personality is a bit more personal...and less easiliy fixable. Fortunately for me, I am not confined by that same restraint.

The best definition of insanity I have heard is...Doing the same thing over and over and over again...and each time expecting a different outcome.

It could be that all these women are "out of step' and don't measure up to your standards...or perhaps, just perhaps, it might be something else.
