Keeping a weapon close at hand is a good idea for women, with all of the crazy guys around. I have taught all of the women in my family to handle weapons.

But! If you carry a gun, get a concealed license to carry. There are a lot of classes in town. A nice class for the girls is the Bullet Hole off of Shawnee Mission Parkway in Kansas.

Perhaps the best class is at the Great Guns Store in Liberty Missouri. Part of the class is taught by Kevin Jamison. Kevin is the attorney that wrote a part of (or all of) the concealed carry law in Missouri. If you are ever involved with a gun discharge case; he is the go to guy in the KC area. He jokes that one just has to bring him bushels of money. The joke aside; one needs to know what the law is if you carry.

He is an ex Green Burette, and an old guy that has been around the block when it comes to the question of weapons. This class is well worth the $125 enrollment fee. You will learn a lot more than just a shooting class from some of the questionable stores (such as She's a Pistol - avoid like the plague).

Kaylen and I are going to talk to someone about this. I'm honestly baffled as to why this person is targeting just certain girls but we are going to find out who it is.
There is enough drama in life without somebody getting a kick out of creating more.
My conditions are I must leave Kansas City and never return.

This is part of the reason I don't have a phone anymore, I got tired of pimps texting me and stupid phone calls. Having people contact me by e-mail cuts down on a lot of the bs. Maybe they're only targeting girls that they can have some sort of phone interaction with?

but, as JRL wrote, make sure you know what the laws are regarding their use. lest you find yourself [the generic you, no the kaylen you] in the pokey for what you thought was protecting yourself.

Question, Kaylen - you said that there were something like 200 texts. Are they identical from one to another, or are they varied? I know there are apps out there that can send the same text many times at repeated intervals. It would just be interesting to know if someone is taking the time to actually type in a bunch of texts, or if they're typing in a few and letting an app do the rest of the work. If it's an app, it might actually be a provider.

Have you checked with your cell phone providers .Is it possible they can trace your incoming texts? Tell them you are getting threatening texts. BE CAREFUL

I will definitely let the community know what happens. Unfortunately, there has already been an attack. While it may or not be connected, it is still really scary.
I think one of the biggest lessons I personally have learned from this is be careful what you tell people about your personal life. You may think or consider them a friend but this is a business and people will use what they have to hurt you.
