I happen to be around when this was going on
i have family that lives in both citys
and was in town .. my family lives like 4 blocks from where the lived
It's been hell around there .. left to go home to night

I only caught part of the story today, but it sounds like they had a lot more planned. As it turns out the guy got upset at his coworkers at the Christmas party and decided to strike now, with the result we now know. If he hadn't jumped the gun, the result might have been much worse.

If you are referring to me, I'm a Episcopalian by upbringing, with Bhuddist/agnostic tendencies. HRC is a hard core Methodist. Not sure who the self-loathing Jew in question is. Is Chung Jewish?

is that KNOWN or just conjecture? I really doubt he (they) decided to strike the party, based on some argument there.. I think the planned party attack was in place before, based on the efficiency and speed of the attack.. I'm sure the authorities want to soften the story where possible.

Chung, you are correct that it may be conjecture. I inferred that from the reports that they had a number of pipe bombs (or the parts for them) that were unused and that he left the party angry after an argument and came back to execute the attack. I suppose it's possible that the party attack was planned, and that the additional weapons were for future attacks assuming that they got away with it. It seems more likely to me that a couple acting alone (if that's what they were, I don't think we really know that either) would plan one large, dramatic attack than a series of smaller ones, but that is definitely speculation on my part. It may be a long time before we know all the facts, and some things we may never know.
