Best Steak - Texas (The Restaurant)
Depends on how you like steaks cooked. Some can't pull off a good Pittsburgh Style to save their lives - and they call themselves a steakhouse.
I like a Pittsburgh Style Medium Rare, and I found the best at a lesser known very nice restaurant called Texas. It's located 1 exit east of 75 off PGBT. You'll see it from the highway.
The steak that's my mainstay there is the "He-man / Woman-Hater 6 Pepper Steak ($38)" It's a significant portion Strip Steak, great thing is that is about a 2" thick cut which is perfect to do a good Pittsburgh char, and still be medium rare in the middle. Standard is a peppercorn sauce they put on it (I order it without)
The atmosphere is great, the service wonderful and the prices moderately high, not as costly as RC or M&S or Bobs, maybe about 20% less.

Some great recommendations. If you like Kobe Papa's is good for that as well. I am partial to III Forks, Pappa's, Perry's is good.
You really want to do it right go to Hirsch butcher shop in Plano on Parker have them select a cut of steak for you and go home and grill it. You really want to go over the top after going to Hirsch drive down to Rex Seafood on Lovers and select some seafood to go with your steaks.

Another great suggestion!
And for a small additional fee, they'll grill your fish while you wait. You can go by after the lunch rush and read something at one of the tables while waiting, and it usually doesn't take them more than 10 minutes or so to prepare your order. Since I'm no great shakes at cooking and grilling, that's what I like to do. Take it home, warm it up later and put it on a plate with a vegetable or two, and I'm good to go!

Since money isn't an object, perhaps you could hire a personal chef to come over and prepare dinner at your place? THAT would be a panty dropper. A civilian one, too.
I was just thinking doing something different, like the personal chef or the dinner catered, would be unique ... hence the appeal.

I do actually cook an awesome steak. I don't grill it but use a combination of searing and roasting that mimics how the better restaurants do it. As an added bonus, I like to bake, so I can also provide dessert (a true panty-dropper). I'll do that for someone I know better but i still enjoy being waited on in a professional establishment.

Personal Style
Following the OP'S leeway here. I noticed the personal touches - Just an opinion on steak at home. I also enjoy cooking.
Steaks: Costco - go with filets, either choice or prime - preparation is going to allow you to cut it with a fork anyway. Save some time, buy the ones already cut, not the whole filet. Usually about 3-3 1/2 inches thick. Trim the fat. Marinate the steaks in Dales Seasoning ( about 3 tablespoons per steak ) in a zipper bag and leave them on the kitchen counter for roughly 45 minutes., turning the bag. Take the steaks out of the bag. Place the steaks in the fridge for about 45 minutes as well. Take the steaks out of the fridge and coat them with melted butter, not margarine, all over. Immediately sprinkle the steaks with Montreal Steak Seasoning, again, all over. Let warm to near room temperature.
Use a charcoal grill, not a gas grill. Light your coals in a coal chimney, not lighter fluid. Use enough coals to bring the temperature up to around 550-600 degrees, usually a full chimney. Pore the hot coals out on the coal grates and close the lid for 10 minutes. Raise the lid, place a small hickory chip on top of the coals near the back of the grill then load the steaks & close the lid. The steaks will char/sear and tighten. Depending on outside temperatures, cook each side about 6-8 minutes for medium rare, hot pink & wet.
Let the steaks stand for about 7-8 minutes. Enough time to microwave Costco Alaskan King Grab legs ( 3 legs ) for about 3 minutes a plate covered with a wet paper towel. After heating the legs, break the legs off at the joints and cut the middle of each leg with a thick steak knife from end to end and by hand you can pull out about 6 ozs., per leg, of succulent crab to be dipped in melted butter and served with the steaks. Add maybe a spinach salad with home made dressing plus some broiled asparagus spears in sea salt & olive oil.
The above has to be accompanied by a premium red wine with a rating of 92 or better.
After dinner, an aged Port and a long leaf all tobacco cigar enjoyed on the patio.
Or, Pappa's or 111 Forks.
And no, I don't work for Costco but they know me by my first name.

I absolutely use lump charcoal when I'm smoking. But for quick grilling of steak, is it really necessary?
I save my lump charcoal for slow cooking. Absolutely essential. But for the quick steak, I haven't found any difference using charcoal briquettes.
I'm in 100% agreement on using a chimney starter instead of lighter fluid. Not only does it taste better, it's cheaper in the long run.

The DQ steak finger basket is good - going to have to try the winking trick for that extra gravy. Good price at only $4.99.
Waffle House has a tbone that's supposed to have been voted America's Best according to them. A tad more on the pricey side at $9.99.
I didn't see the obvious panty-dropper listed - IHOP's tbone has been know to get a man or two laid. This is much more expensive, like $12.99 but he did say money is no object.
