I'm a gentleman of the old school. Like Gen. Mattis, I take a dim view of Cabinet members who leave and write tell-all insider books. Mad Dog has largely kept quiet. Common decency says you should wait until the POTUS is out of office before you publish your memoirs. And yes, that applies to both sides. For example, I wasn't entirely comfortable with the way Bob Gates published a book ("Duty") with accounts that were embarrassing to Obama... while Obama was still in office.
