Kosher et al, I am rethinking my ideas on the geography of the region, ang Israels right to exist. However their methods and policies still infuriate me.

I know this thread is about Palestine, but there's a new report out today about Mexican gangs operating in Texas, and I'm coming to the conclusion that this situation amounts to acts of war perpetrated on us by the government of Mexico.

The time has come to examine Covert Action and more against the politicians in Mexico. They're a much bigger threat to us than anyone in the Middle East.

Rebuttal is one thing. I don't recall initiating any personal slurs at you. Maybe they were after you'd made an outrageous, racial comment, but I don't as a rule call people names in a public forum. That's AGAINST THE RULES.

Yes, I know, but Mexico never officially recognized it until after the Mexican/American war

I agree. The Mexican gangs have been around for a while in Texas that's one way how they move the drugs across the border. Now that we are reducing our efforts in the middle east we might turn our attention to the Mexican problem.

I also consider the cyber attacks by China against America as an act of war. We need to start a new thread: China's Cyber War.

I've been to Israel countless times, have friends there, and a minority of Israelis share my views.

Unfortunately Israeli politics came off the rails in the 1970s when it elected the former head of the Irgun terrorist gang, Menachim Begin, to be Prime Minister. Then when his wife died and he became a hermit they elected an even more notorious killer, Yitsak Shamir, to be Prime Minister.

Since that time under the Likud Party Israel has expanded settlements over the conquered lands and refused to negotiate in good faith.

IMHO the rise of the Likud signified Israeli's realization that their claims for a state were groundless, and that to continue them they had no choice but to embrace the extreme, terrorist far right and simply fight it out to the bitter end.

I hope that will never happen.

I hope that everyone in Palestine can live together in a single, secular and pluralistic country.

But under the Likud that will never happen.

*There are haters of course. But the hate arises not from what the Israelis are...it stems from what the Israelis do.
