perhaps, but there is flawed logic, that because evil exists, God is not omnipotent, or does not exist because. The flaw is that man presupposes that God should behave to how man expects him to behave, so this no proof either way. I simply see it free will.
It also not fair for me to pick on Epicurus, as he lived 300BC, and the majority of religions his region of Europe involved the worship of idols, and various forms of polytheism.

I'm not entirely sure what you're saying here, to be honest with ya. If you're suggesting that evil exists in the world because of free will, i would simply point out that there is plenty of evil that occurs totally outside the control of any human being.
And the only real flaw exists if there is some sort of higher logic that we're all unaware of. If God can stop evil but chooses not to, i think that's pretty self explanatory as to what it means, free will or not.

Good point. Organized religion can expose the failures of man, not necessarily God.

I have always believed in a God that suffers as well by our "evil" choices. In the grand scheme, it might be a necessity. The challenges, trials and tribulations of this world permit our own personal growth. We would never have an opportunity to show kindness, mercy, charity to others if a God always interceded.
And sometimes on a evolutionary perspective, maybe we just need to thin the herd.

That sounds like a fair point, but if i may, it sounds as if you're suggesting that God welcomes evil, while at the same time he punishes those responsible for it.
We can figure out ways to rationalize pretty much anything. Personally, when it comes to the existence and behavior of a God, i just choose to take everything at face value.

"Welcomes" and "punishes" maybe not. How about "forgives." We have been using this term "evil" and can't help to think of some the impoverished and disabled that I've come across. They are the happiest, most wonderful people I've had the privileged of meeting. Perhaps we have all been given gifts beyond our capabilities of understanding.
And yes, we can rationalize pretty much anything. Our belief systems is predicated by each individual's experience and their questions. Our understanding of a higher being, our faith (or lack thereof) is developed and takes a process.
Gotta go, soulless Zombies are on TV!

Funny... God has the Bible, Torah and Quran but we never here the Devil's side of the story. Slayer at the gym for me for repentance.
