Day Together". They complied. But, The Doors didn't. They were told not to sing "Girl we couldn't get much higher", and they agreed. But, they sang it anyway LOL. And, when they did, Morrison mugged for the camera
Back to The Stones. They had a string of amazing songs their first few years, songs that were not commercially successfully but are still my favorite Stones songs -- Tell Me, The Last Time, It's All Over Now, Heart of Stone and Time Is On My Side, their break-out hit. They wrote very few of their own songs in their early years, they covered a lot of blues and R&B numbers, plus plain ole rockers like Little Queenie and Around and Around. It wasn't until
Aftermath (my favorite Stones album), which was about their fourth or fifth album, that they released an album consisting of all Jagger-Richards songs.
They shoulda hung 'em up after
Sticky Fingers. I know I'm in the distinct minority, but IMO they turned to total crap after that album.
