The only reason I'm responding is because I have a family member that caught HepC through a blood transfusion. (Another story for another time, and yes, he was greatly rewarded through the court system...) I just want good information to be put out about this.

A simple search will also reveal that Hepatitis C is spread by
direct contact with infected blood. It is not spread unless blood is present. A child is not at risk having casual contact with an infected person. Hepatitis C cannot be spread by hugging, kissing, handshakes, sneezing, coughing, or sharing household utensils (spoons, forks, bowls, glasses).
I don't mean to sound like I'm arguing with you about this, so I'll stop now.
