Yes, Thursday sounds good! I know it's hard for people to get out during the week, but changing up the day will allow for everyone to enjoy the "party"... Yes, this is a 'goodbye' to me, and I want to include everyone, which is why there are several dinner parties till May!
We had a great group for the last one, and I only wish to expand for the next...it's fun!
Who doesn't love beer and sausage? Really, who?

Back to the Olympics. Curling rules. Looks like a good beer sport.

The Date Is Set.....
Ok, Thursday, the 4th of March it is. If you want to come just say so here and then re-confirm when we get closer. We will keep a list. We need firm commitments for the head count so please be considerate. The restaurant will set up a big table for us but sometimes they will want the whole group to be there before they will let us sit. If you say you are coming then please do so or, if you can't, let us know ahead of time before the big night. Just copy and paste the list from here and add or delete your name.

Eh?
Hey, I'm just saying, dude sliding a rock with two other dudes with brooms just strikes me as a sport we can all play on some frozen pond, complete with beer and cigarettes. My kind of "athlete". Sort of like outside bowling. Official uniform is jorts and a tee....
Sorry to crash off course

Thanks for including me on the initial list, Pearlman.
This thread is turning into "nostalgia central"for me....
Trains around the ceiling...the first doctor I can remember had them....
Yodeling....my cousin who had the fine married name of Deutchmann used to be featured on a Saturday radio show (small town Ohio)....
Curling and hockey...Eh....I had both the Detroit Red Wings and the CBC, CKLW Ch 9 Windsor, Ontario so I can honestly say thanks to the Canadians. They exposed me to both curling and "Hockey Night in Canada" long before any of their now current popularity.
Extra points if you know what sport it comes from and what a "rouge" is?

Rouge is that crazy one point thing you have for a Canadian football kick, but I don't remember if it actually has to go through the goal posts?
Watching a story on curling in Canada on Real Sports - HBO as we speak... They say it started in Scotland? Think William Wallace in his kilt throwing the stone.

From Wiki:
Single
Scored when the ball becomes dead in the possession of a team in its own goal area, or when the ball touches or crosses the dead-line, or side-line-in-goal, and touches the ground, a player, or some object beyond these lines as a result of the ball having been kicked from the field of play into the goal area by the scoring team. It is worth one point. This is different from a Safety (see above) in that team scored against receives possession of the ball after the score.
Officially, the single is called a rouge (French for "red") but is often referred to as a single. The exact derivation of the term is unknown but it has been thought that in early Canadian football, the scoring of a single was signalled with a red flag.
My Scots relatives were lowlanders....I think instead of a clan tartan they were allowed to wear a gaggle seersucker....

Count me in if its on a Wednesday night.
I have always loved going to the Edelweiss and would love to find a good place closer to me.
Good food, hot women, and a cold beer to loosen the tongue (if not the belt)...it's a good thing.
oops, looks like the date was set for thursday...have to work.
next time.
