1958...Faron Young and his Country Deputies at the auction barn in my beloved two-bit little hometown. I worked after school at the auction barn, so I just kept on shoveling shit until the show started, and it didn't cost a damn thing. This was before ol' Faron grabbed that chick from the audience and spanked her ass, at least it was before I knew about it...which is a good thing because if I had known he did that I would've spent the whole time surveying the audience hunting a nominee. Huge audience, must of been 40 or 50 people there. Hell, maybe even more.
That same year I got tooken to some kind of college party by my gf, who was about 5 years older than me, and the band was Chuck Berry's...saw him do that one-legged guitar hop he does and heard "My Ding-A-Ling" for the first time. Haven't been the same since.
Nor have I been to a concert since Billy Idol at the Summit in about 1986 or so...can't afford the prices and can't stay awake. It took 3 strippers to coax me into that Billy Idol show but they didn't let me down...I suppose that dang glitter they shed still will still keep showing up in my house longer than I will.

I've heard his voice was unbelievable back then. Just like Tom Jones, but I am not going to see him either.

There's a concert video of them performing at the Summit back in 1975. No instrument destruction took place, even though Pete Townshend threw his guitar up in the air. He caught it and laid it against the amps, then the band takes a bow and left the stage.

Kerwill, the first time I saw them, Keith Moon was alive, fucker was so wasted, he fell off his rostrum twice, but damn he could still keep a beat wasted. They did not tear their shit up. Other two times was when Kenny Jones was the drummer.
Most fucked up concert was the Pocono Jam, at Pocono International Raceway in 72. 400,000 wasted motherfuckers, and I was one of them. 14 bands, Three Dog Night was the headliner, ELP, Cactus, Black Sabbath, Ramatam, Edgar Winter, and the others, I can't recall right now. Fucking Banditos biker gang was "security", what a clusterfuck....lol

The Beatles, 1964 at the Cincinnati Gardens (where the Royals played - Big O). My early favorite was Cream @ Music Hall in Cinti. My additional favorites would be Hendrix also at the Gardens - horrible acoustics, The Who at Music Hall - great acoustics, The Chili Peppers in Houston and the 8 or 9 Clapton concerts in various locations. Oh and The Dead in Columbus Ohio.

Damn I'm not the oldest f*cker on the board? First one would be Johnny Cash with my parents in Detroit. Didn't appreciate him then back in early 70s but I was young and stupid. Best concert? Maybe Emerson Lake and Palmer or Chicago playing their early stuff.

LMAO - yeah, I do occasionally, seedy. In fact, got my tickets for 3 games in sunny Kissimmee in the mail today. Headin' down there there in a couple of weeks!!! Worst part of it was reading that Porter has decided NOT to let them wear their names on the back of their jerseys this year (spring training). Ain't gonna have a fricking clue who is who!

I know there some guys on here remember those California Jams back in 1974 and 1978!
Deep Purple was on the first one. Ritchie Blackmore was so pissed off that he fucked up three guitars, a television video camera, and blew up one of his Marshall amplifier stacks! The impact of the explosion damn near took the whole stage! The band got airlifted by helicopter before the police got to them. That shit was wild!!
