Donald Trump never ran for anything prior to 2016. He was not a politician. He could never be the VP.

The only demographic where Harris will lose votes when compared to Biden are the elderly male voters. She is expected to gain votes from people of color, women, younger voters, and independent voters.

In 2020 she had a 2% approval rating she dropped out of the Presidential race. Then of course she was appointed VP only because of her gender and skin tone. What has upped her game now for everyone other than old white men to support her?

The polls indicate that Harris has higher approval ratings than Biden among people of color, women, younger voters, and Independents. How that translates into people who were leaning towards voting for Trump into voting for Harris is up for discussion. Latest polls have Harris slightly ahead of Trump nationally.
