I agree with the concept of a non violent revolution that leads to a change at the ballot box. As long as the incumbents respect the election process violence is not an option. It is up to the people to speak up if the elected leaders are voting against their interests.

I believe it was FDR's buddy Joe Stalin that said it's who counts the votes that matters. That's how Al Franken stole his senate seat; he rigged the recount. Of course if Acorn (or whatever they call themselves now) can get enough Donald Ducks and Mickey Mouses registered, that will help too.

In 1861, The South thought they had the right to break away from The United States of America and form their own Country. Many said that yes, they had that right.

What cancelled out that right was the over powering military might of the United States, and a President who was not afraid to use it.

Yes, you have the right to voice your displeasure with the way elected officials carry out their duties. Yes you have the right to protest laws that you do not agree with. Yes, you have the right to petition the government, and yes, you have the right to vote for candidates that more reflect your beliefs.

But no, you do not have the right to change the basic tenants of our Constitutional Republic.

So, the fact that a president illegally attacked states that did, in fact, have the right to leave (TX specifically reserved the right to leave the union in the treaty it joined the union with) means what? That you're in favor of another president illegally using military force against Americans? Is THAT your point?

There is an old saying that before the War, the common name for this Country was "These United States". After the war, it became "The United States".

Incidentally, that thing about Texas is null and void. Yes, when Texas first joined the Union, it did reserve the right to break away. But, when it joined the Confederacy, and fought against the United States, and lost, it re-entered the United States as a defeated foe.

That made the originol treaty null and void.

Let's hope it doesn't take that many lives to restore our constitutional republic again. We are not the America of 1861. We are a burgeoning socialist police state. I am opposed to that. There are very few candidates that reflect my beliefs, because they have been bought by the Business-Bank-Government alliance. If you think America is still a free country, you are sadly delusional.

George Carlin once said that we only have the illusion of freedom in this country.. they make you think your free because you have too many choices.. let's see do I want to smoke the menthol lights or the camel cigs?
