Not really Charles. Many (most?) of us (including guys) have interacted with one or more members in real life. We might not swap social security numbers or mother's maiden names etc. but there is at least enough of an interaction that a couple of people could at least vouch us being real people. ("Yeah, that ATL, he's just as big of a horse's ass in real life as he is on the message board"

As DG mentioned a number of us were duped awhile back by the "Sensual Sisters" who in reality was probably some middle-aged man still living in his Mom's basement. I don't think anyone was out any $, etc. but you tend to take someone more seriously, even on a message board, if you know there is a legit person behind the avatar.
As for Alex, I asked the question more out of miild curiousity than anything else. If she wants to hide behind a fictional persona, more power to her. There are times when I'd like to be able to vent about my industry behind a false id.
I do think it is important that the one person/one account rule is maintained though...
