What I was saying as a licensed Realtor is what to expect in the market here in Houston. Helpful advice so that you won't get scammed into over paying in a terrible neighborhood.

But if you want to make it look like I'm implying that you can't afford it, well then you probably can't.

I would never live in a terrible area in the first place sorry I have standards.. I own a house already so figureing out monthly payments isnt an area I need advice in if that was the case I would have asked in the first place... All I needed was different places to find a house to rent nothing more and nothing less... Mr. Realtor

When you look for a house to rent they always have the monthly payment they expect so really you just tried to explain something that was useless but wanted to feel as if you were doing something useful.. But thanks

When I lived in Texas, I bought a house on Tiki Island. I enjoyed they hell out of it and the commute to Houston wasn't bad. The only thing I hated was the $9000 per year in property tax.

Har.com is going to have the best info. Zillow and redfin are ok too but har is where you want to research. Goodluck!

Fucking assholes going around trying to be helpful when it isn't needed. Probably thought you would just move along politely without putting him in his place if his input wasn't useful. What a douchebag.

It was worth it. Living on the water with easy access to the bay. I hated to sell it. I fished damn near everyday and surfed when the waves were up in a Galveston.

Now I run the family ranch in Australia full time. I went from one extreme to the next.

Estimated monthly rent of a house is 1% of the value of the house, so lets say a house cost $200,000 in the northside/champions area, then expect to pay for rent $2,000 with one month deposit and non-refundable background/credit score check.

How the hell is this being an asshole? Sure people can WANT a certain value for rent of their house but it doesn't mean that it is reasonable.

When using sources like zillow, trulia, postlets and other places online, the renter can be scammed.

For you ignorant people - it is like using backpage when you can use Eccie.

And sure as hell no did DM put me in my place. So go fuck off you faggot white knight

HAR and Zillow work great..... I have several friends that have rental houses and that is what they often use when they can't find someone via word-of-mouth, which is their preferred method of getting a new tenant.

You are most certainly correct about the cost of renting in the city of Houston as opposed to outlying areas. This is especially true if you want to get something that is inside the 610 loop. Part of the reason for the high rents, beyond the obvious supply@demand is the skyrocketing values that the county has assigned to properties in the greater Houston area for tax purposes. There is not much that can be done about this.

I will ask my friends if they have or know of anything on the North side of know of any and letcha know.

Happy hunting

I was being ironic frank. Clearly there was nothing wrong with you attempting to be helpful. The problem is that you were trying to help someone who is so totally consumed with being angry that she can't simply be polite if she didn't find your input valuable.
