Not trying to be alarmist, rather to share concern openly. Shoot it down if unjustified. Please.

Trees loves to party, to share and far more inclined to give than receive and am by nature sociable. Trees would enjoy attending buying some drinks for some awesome, helpful peeps - - yet somehow less risk to be just thankful for the invite and leave it at that?

Some people don't attend for that very reason. You have to make your own decisions. I for example am a known party animal who openly parties with lot's of people, you it seem want to be more discrete.

Trees Ive been going to CK's socials on this board and ASPD for 12 years. Everyone there is a active member on the board and screened. Unless someone knows your name for real, I don't think there is anyway there would be a problem. Now, the after parties....those may be a little riskier but if you hang with your buds your good.

If you don't ALREADY have a hotel room for Austin you probably are not going to get one (or if you do, the price will be astronomical) as SXSW will be in full swing.
