I was brand new to Kansas City in 2008 had the Saturn with its 200,000 + miles and the clothes in the back seat that is all. I got to the driver side door and the bay opened up it was maybe 5 am and I had just turned on the car for heat. I was crying and shivering and probably looked suicidal but a homeless man, maybe 45 ish knocked on my window and said are you ok I couldn't say a word I was just inconsolable. He reached in his pocket and put $5 in my windshield wiper and said please go get some coffee then he walked away. I tear up at the very thought of it. I had a car. He was walking. My tags said out of town so he could have just as well laughed and called me gullible too. But he wasn't trying to gain fame with the heartless anonymity of a Bad Ass and he wasn't trying to get what was in it for him. Maybe I'm gullible for the kindness and still kind to those that are rude. It's not an insult. I prefer being kind to being rude.
