We have to expect more people in the general population will get ebola. It won't be shut down completely. What's more troubling is health care workers getting it. That part we should be able to control. Maybe they didn't use proper precautions. If they did use proper precautions and still got ebola then that's a major concern. That simply shouldn't happen.

On a side note: the nurses union has thrown the Obama White House and the CDC under the bus. They say that there was no protocol for dealing with Ebola despite official claims.

As I posted in the other thread, the western African countries need to be quarantined (or contained) before it's too late.

Give it up.
There was no malpractice because there was no doctor-patient relationship. She wasn't treating anyone. End of story.
And the rest of your babble sound like you are trying to state a cause of action for getting someone sick, except she hasn't actually harmed anyone.
And she won't be liable even if someone else does get Ebola. The quarantine was voluntary, so she did not break any law. And she has to intend for someone to get ill or be reckless to the danger of it.
If you have HIV and deliberately have unprotected sex with someone, you can be liable if that person gets sick because of the high risk of transmission.
But, unless you are coughing or puking, if it very difficult to spread Ebola. So you aren't going to be able to make a case that someone who did not have symptoms was being reckless when she ran out to get a sandwich.

Well they must have swapped spit with Duncan cause you would have to get about that direct in order to catch Ebola.

FYI Gladfly, the nurse called the CDC before she got on the plane. She told the CDC that she had a mild temperature of 99.5 F. Their documentation at the time that she called states that you can't fly if your temperature is 101.5 or higher. So the CDC representative gave her the okay to fly. Try to do some homework before you throw someone under the bus.
I agree with you about the doctor on NBC. She should at least be suspended for breaking her voluntary quarantine.

Funny slinger, I noticed that in both those links Perry and his representatives were quoting Obama. So if Obama lied.....balls in your court.

You have forgotten that the doctor works for NBC. She puts them on the hook for her actions. She should be fired by NBC to protect themselves and she should lose her license for violating her oath, "First, do no harm".

The nurse is supposed to exercise "controlled movement" according to protocol which means they aren't supposed to travel especially on public transportation. Fuck what the CDC rep said; they said it was OK to let Duncan in.
But honestly, neither you or I know much more then what's being shown on TV and general news internet sites. Did you see my "Doctors without Borders" and "Exclusion zone" posts?
Your homework consists of swallowing the Obama line.

No, NBC is not on the hook for her actions. Any more than your employer would be if you spread disease while mopping floors.
Please cite an example where a company got sued successfully because its employee spread a contagious disease to someone else. And we aren't talking about food poisoning here - like salmonella - where the company is responsible for not wiping down surfaces.
We don't allow people to sue for getting contagious diseases because it is difficult to prove with certainty who gave it to you and because the court system would collapse.
Flu season would result in millions of law suits every year.

The highly respected Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota just advised the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) that “there is scientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles,” including exhaled breath.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Governm...ittable-by-Air
Yeah, it's breitbart but the hotlinks take you directly to the CIDRAP site.
Basically no one knows for sure. Maximum precautions need to be taken and travel bans need to be implemented immediately. If we can't effectively screen all incoming international flights then those need to be suspended too.
Yesterday the Marine Corp southern commander said that if Ebola gets to South or Central America he felt like the influx of people to the US through the southern border either escaping the disease or seeking treatment would be a nightmare scenario.

To late for what?
What are you implying?
Question what do you think the over/under is for Ebola deaths in this country in the next 6 months?
I say under 10.
This is nothing but a political game....the more the GOP can scare, the better their chances are in the mid term. You are one naive dumbass if you do not realize this.
