Monday’s trial of former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann is set to be followed by special counsel John Durham’s case against a source of discredited reports in the infamous “Steele dossier”– with potentially more prosecutions to come.

Like Sussmann, Igor Danchenko — who faces trial in Virginia in October — is accused of lying to the FBI in connection with purported links between former President Donald Trump and Russia.

In Danchenko’s case, the alleged falsehoods include denying that public relations executive Charles “Chuck” Dolan Jr., a longtime Bill and Hillary Clinton supporter, provided him with information that he passed along to former British spy Christopher Steele for opposition research against Trump.

The material allegedly included elements of the salacious allegation that Russian intelligence had a recording of prostitutes urinating on a bed in the presidential suite of Moscow’s Ritz-Carlton hotel at Trump’s direction because former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama had previously slept in it.

Dolan appeared shocked after the dossier was published by Buzzfeed shortly before Trump’s 2017 inauguration, and he sent an email that said, “I’m hoping that this is exposed as fake news,” The Wall Street Journal reported last week.

Both Sussmann and Danchenko have pleaded not guilty.

Former high-ranking Justice Department prosecutor Jim Trusty said that “the big question with the Durham probe is whether it goes further up one of two chains” as he investigates possible criminality in the government’s probes of Trump.

One involves whether the alleged wrongdoing of Sussmann goes “all the way up the ladder” of Hillary Clinton’s campaign to the candidate herself, said Trusty, a Fox News contributor.

Other potential targets include FBI officials who may have “knowingly” used false information to mislead the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to authorize wiretaps against former Trump campaign associate Carter Page, Trusty said.

Christopher Steele is an alleged British spy for opposition research against former President Donald Trump.

“There could be other issues, such as charging (former tech executive and Sussmann client Rodney) Joffe or others, but the big stuff remains to be seen,” he said.

A spokesperson for Joffe has denied he did anything illegal and described him as “an apolitical internet security expert with decades of service to the U.S. Government who has never worked for a political party.”

Days after Danchenko’s November indictment, Trump’s second national security adviser, John Ratcliffe, predicted that “there will be many indictments based on the intelligence that I gave to John Durham and that I have seen.”

In February, Ratcliffe again said he expected “quite a few more indictments,” just hours before Fox News reported that Durham’s probe had “accelerated,” with “much more activity…than has been visible to the public.”

Got an e-mail from my Democrat friend who has only recently become aware of any of this. I reminded him that I told him all this 5 years ago when Nunes described all this and was liabled by every Democrat, every major newspaper and all MSM.


He had read this very big description, mostly accurate, in the Times and said he was very dumb because he had a hard time following the story, he's very self deprecating when it becomes obvious he was wrong not to believe me and can now understand what I was talking about when I repeatedly told him he would only hear this story from Fox news. He ended by saying, "I can see why only Fox news covered this story". Then I told him that every other story I have been telling him for 5 years was also true. He has told me on occasion that he doesn't believe I'm lying, that I'm just being brain washed by Tucker Carlson who the media he watches and reads has made enemy number one to the Democrat party.


Now, he has just read his first accounts of the Hunter Biden laptop but "doesn't know what to make of it" And again I reminded him that I told him this years ago but alas, he is to far gone to bring back to reality. You think VM hates Donald Trump, you should meet my friend, he would make VM look like a Trump cheer leader.

I don't think a conviction of Sussman is a slam dunk with an Obama judge and a DC jury who one pundit said had a known Clinton donor on the jury but in DC, it would be impossible to seat a jury without more than a few die hard Democrat supporters.


I just hope that Durham writes a report and names names, lays out all the players and the role they played. I don't think it would be ethical to do that from what I hear but I hope he does it anyway.
