Figuratively speaking, I'm packing them right now. And I wouldn't be if Trump hadn't lost the Senate for us, and if I didn't figure Democrats were going to control the federal government for as long as Trump continues to be the figurehead of the GOP.

I do agree that Trump upped Republican turnout, and did bring in some voters who would have otherwise sat out the election or voted for Democrats. Hell, Chung Tran voted for him in 2016. But he also pissed off Democrats. He brought more Democrats to the polls who wanted to vote against him than he did Republicans who wanted to vote for him. Which is why Biden, a mediocre candidate, ended up with 7 million more votes.

And a question for you Bambino. What do you think would happen if the GOP ran somebody like Tim Scott or Nikki Hailey or maybe this new guy Youngkin if he wins in Virginia against Biden in 2024? I figure we'd win. It's established from the results in 2020 that Trump would probably lose.

I hate to remind you and bambino but the reason both Trump and Biden got more votes was because State legislators made it easier to vote. Not more crooked but more accessible.

That is why GOP led states are wanting to make it seem as if there was a stolen election, so they can target Democrats and stymie there preferred ways to vote.

Tiny....the GOP will win national elections for decades to come with the SC makeup as is. What they decided...to Trump and his lovers disgust was that they are going to all8w the States to control their own elections and rules. Any challenges to these new voting laws will fall on deaf ears for those on the left wanting to outlaw them....just like they stood up to Trump and his Merry band of idiots.

The Democrats won the battle but the Republicans have won the War.

Two things sunk the Dems.

McConnell holding up one SC nomination and McConnell rushing one through.

Trump's upset win was also a huge factor.

Biden is but a bump in the road for total GOP domination. The bad thing though where Mitch did not figure was that it is the far right Trumpian wing that will dominate.

... YOU make some good points here, mate.
Though I believe voting should be controlled
at the state level. YOU really want Federal controlled
elections when Repubs hold both chambers and the presidency??
You want the fillabuster gone when Repubs hold power??

Prolly Not.

... So YES, the claims of voter irregularities will
continue once Republicans control the House and
investigations won't get quickly scrapped.
That thought might make you blue, but there it is.

And I'll surely agree that Repubs aint blameless
with things... When it's time for re-districting,
that familiar fellow named "Gerry Mander" will
step in and draw up the new maps... surely funny
how the Repub voting district goes right-thru
Rich-ville and Wealthy-towne and THEN thru
some poor areas that used to be part of
the Dems area map next-over.

And the former square-shaped Republican disctrict
NOW looks like a rather odd-shaped egg.

I don't know shit about gerrymandering WTF. But just reading about provisions of voting laws in the press, I don't think any other than gerrymandering give the advantage to Democrats or Republicans, in the long term. In the short term these new laws may favor Democrats. This is because party leaders like Stacey Abrams misrepresent them, calling them the New Jim Crow and the like, and that helps get people fired up to go and vote.

As to gerrymandering, and again I know very little about that, it seems to me that both sides do it. And until 2013 Democrats had an advantage in that sphere because they could do whatever they wanted in blue states, while redistricting in some red southern states was supervised by the courts.

Anyway, It's very hard for a Republican to win a district election in Maryland because of the way it's gerrymandered. Illinois and New York are doing the same thing. And I'm sure there are other blue states too where it's a problem. Democratic politicians and operatives try to make it seem like Republicans are the only perpetrators and that's not true.

And, WTF, I don't think the composition of the Supreme Court will make a bit of difference. Please note it didn't give any credence whatsoever to the Big Lie.

Wouldn't the federal courts invalidate any egregious state election laws?
