I know this will sound weird, but if you crush a little bit of alka seltzer with a couple drops of water and work it by the sphincters with a finger, it somehow relaxes them greatly. Not sure why!

It shouldn't hurt ever. Poppers, I believe, are more for the rush and the feeling of intoxication and not for the actual release of muscles/sphincters. I know the fantasy of poppers is that they allow you to take it all, but in reality, you and your top need to honor you body's limits.

If several fingers feels great, that's a perfectly good reason to simply enjoy that sensation.
