Typically I still wait about 4 days before profiling the bad-guy and speculating on how many red flags were already known, ignored and overlooked, even though in this day and age, that information is available within 10 seconds. This approach never fails to let me down watching the usual suspects make absolute fools of themselves.

For example: Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland. Turned out the deranged loon(s) were not debate team captains or ROTC members getting ready to enroll in the Marines or captain of the football team and always, aka each and every time, there were numerous red flags flapping highly and brightly - for multiple years - that could have averted the disaster, yet were ignored.
