No reason to be so harsh, man. I started this thread about Herman Cain's plan to build an electrified border fence. Your insults are out of line but par for the course.

My wife is also an immigrant and not 100 years ago. How about you?

When in history was the US border secured with deadly force?

Why should it be now? To keep out people who you find undesirable? Like your grandparents might have been?

I believe America should continue to be the land of opportunity and welcome people of all nationalities and ethnicities to our shores.

What documentation are you talking about? The kind issued by the US? Please explain yourseelf.

You obiously have a different agenda, however thinly veiled.

Again. Where are your people from? And when? Why did they deserve entry into the US more than the Mexican immigrants of today?

LOL, Response #2 from you and you STILL have not answered the simple questions I posted.
I was not rude, I simply pointed out that you have not answered the questions, which you never seem to do. Other posters have made the same observation as recently as tonight.
You also have a very short term memory or you would remember when we spoke on immigration in past posts here that I pointed out my wife is a LEGAL immigrant who came here a few years ago. That means unlike MILLIONS of illegal immigrants from Mexico and other countries, we underwent the mandatory waiting periods, we paid the necessary fees, we provided the necessary documentations...no matter how retarded (We had to provide to the Government personal letters between her and I, pictures of us together, proof of income etc etc).
So I'll make one last attempt to get you to answer a simple question that she posed to me after arriving here and seeing what's happening on our southern border:
"Honey, why did we pay thousands of dollars in government fees, provide all the documentation, wait for months on end to bring me here when you could have simply flown me to Mexico and have me walk across"?
That's the question she posed. Can you answer that YSSUP for the hundreds of thousands of LEGAL immigrants who came here the right way? Can you answer why they shouldn't feel like fools for doing things the right way when the U.S. Government REWARDS Illegals for coming here illegally by handing out SSI and other Government benefits while making LEGAL immigrants sign notarized Government papers promising NOT to seek Government financial assistance for FIVE years after arriving in the United States?!
Please YSSUP, help everyone here understand how that makes sense.

Herman Cain acknowledges his electric border fence idea isn't a joke after all

PHOENIX - After first apologizing for suggesting an electric fence along the border, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain told reporters here Monday that he still thinks it's a good idea for controlling illegal immigration.

"I'm not walking away from that," he said.

Cain has spent the last several days explaining a controversial comment about building an electrified fence along the U.S. - Mexico border that he said could kill people trying to enter the country illegally. On Sunday, he said his comments were "a joke." But talking to reporters here after a meeting here with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has made a national reputation for cracking down on illegal immigrants, Cain reversed course.

Initially Cain apologied when told his remarks had upset some in the state. "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa," he said, using the Latin formula for expressing contrition. But when a reporter challenged his description of his comments, saying he didn't seem to be telling a joke, the retired pizza executive acknowledged: "You're right." He said he still believes in the need for a border fence "and it might be electrified."

About 45 minutes late for his meeting with Arpaio because of "harassment," that caused the sheriff's office to deploy an escort, Cain would not discuss the details.

"We received some information that caused us to improve our security on the way over here and I would like to just leave it at that," Cain told reporters. "When you become a top tier candidate, a lot of nuts come out of the closet. That's basically what it is."

Cain wasn't the only Republican presidential candidate in Arizona - host of one of the early primary contests - talking immigration here on Monday. Earlier in the day, Michele Bachmann met with Arizona lawmakers and law enforcement officials to discuss border security. Afterwards, she accused both Cain and Texas Gov. Rick Perry of not being tough enough on the issue.

Without mentioning him by name, Bachmann referenced a controversial statement Governor Perry previously made in which he called a border fence "idiocy."

"I wouldn't call completing the fence 'idiocy,' as has been done in the recent presidential conversations," Bachmann said. "It is important that we actually do complete the fence in every portion."

And she pounced on Cain's suggestions that he had been making a joke about an electrified border fence.

"I also want to say that this is no laughing matter, the border fence," Bachmann said. We've seen jokes made by presidential candidates about the fence."

Bachmann has been a staunch supporter of building a fence along the entire border between the United States and Mexico, and on Saturday she became the first presidential candidate to sign "The Pledge," a declaration of support for the construction of a border fence created by the national advocacy group, Americans for Securing the Border.

Cain, campaigning last week in Tennessee, said he wanted to build an electric fence along the border that would kill those trying to climb it to enter the country illegally. When pressed on the comment Sunday by NBC's David Gregory on Meet the Press, the former Godfather's CEO said of the comment, "That's a joke."

But Bachmann wasn't laughing.

"That was a joke and this is no laughing matter," she told reporters when asked about Cain's comment. "It's important that we take this issue very seriously in dealing with the fence, as all of the individuals in front of me are doing, they're dealing with it very capably and very seriously."

One of the few times I have found myself agreeing with Governor Goodhair.
I find it hilarious that a minority canditate would agree with putting an electrical fence on Mexico. I wonder if this man would feel the same if he was of mexican descent?

You were being rude, and insulting, as has become your norm, DT.

But to answer your question, I believe its wrong that you should have had to provide all that documentation to get your wife into this country. I did, too. My wife is an American citizen now. But we never paid any fees. Then again, it was 100 years ago, right? BTW - your story is not one I've committed to memory so please forgive me for not knowing it by wrote.

Again, I think that our borders shuld be open. DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?

Your bitterness cannot be assuaged by any answer that I give beyond that.

Sounds like your problem with Mexican immigrants has less to do with policy and more to do with people.

Now please come down offa that caballo and answer my questions.

Now please answer my questions.
1. I clearly stated "from Mexico and other countries". Unless you can prove otherwise, the MAJORITY of Illegals come from Mexico and Central America. So it has ZERO to do with me not liking people of Mexican descent or who are Mexican....that's an absurd accusation that you cannot back up with any facts. But like most liberals, when facts fail, throw out the race card right?!

2. You didn't pay any Government fees? I'd like to know how THAT is possible? My father even had to pay fees to bring my mother here in the 1950's so I'm not sure how you managed to avoid paying but that's your business, not mine.

3. I re-read my post and I never once insulted you. I simply stated that you were sidestepping the questions which you've managed to do until now finally saying you believe the borders should be "open". I also re-read all my posts I posted in all threads tonight and there's not a single insult in any of them. But when the logic fails, throwing the race card out fails then I guess the last resort is to play the victim right YSSUP? That has become fairly standard for YOU.
Fair enough, now do you mind explaining:
1. How is our Government supposed to establish whether the people coming across our "open borders" are criminals, terrorists, are perhaps sick with infectious diseases or have any means of supporting themselves once coming here and won't be dependent on government assistance? Or does any of that matter?
2. The U.S. Government currently hands out SSI benefits to hundreds of thousands of illegals. Given the fact that our unemployment is currently hovering around 9%+ and we're 14 Trillion dollars in debt, how do you see our Government dealing with millions upon millions of more immigrants once our borders are declared "open"?

I believe Cain is simply echoing the frustrations many Americans have with our current border policy. I certainly don't want to see dead men, women and kids on our border but the fact is our current effort to stem the tide of illegal immigration aren't working. An "open border" is simply not an option for a country that wants some sort of security and control over who comes into our country. So how do we screen who comes into our country when currently people are simply walking across and entering our Country by the thousands without us having any clue how many of them are criminals, how many of them are coming here to work vs other intentions?

Not outsourcing to remote countries with no humn rights.

These are ANWERS, DT. Solutions.

What's your problem? I think you're pissed that your immigraion lawyer too you to the bank and mine didnt. Tough shit. Should have asked those hard questions before you tried to bring a Martian into this country!

You JUST stated that you believe we should have OPEN borders. Now you're saying it's a "control issue at the border?" Maybe it's bedtime for you YSSUP because you're making ZERO sense right now.

Solution? Where is the solution in that ridiculous answer? I just pointed out that our unemployment is at 9%, you want our government to create jobs for the American workforce while simultaneously allowing millions of more people to enter our country without documentation and you think that's gonna help the American workforce? How exactly? That's not a solution, that's simply making up statements as you go.

What's your problem? I think you're pissed that your immigraion lawyer too you to the bank and mine didnt. Tough shit. Should have asked those hard questions before you tried to bring a Martian into this country!

At first I thought you were either naive or simply misguided but now I think you're flat out lying.
An immigration lawyer has NOTHING to do with the fees set by the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services).
Here's a link to their fees. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/usc...00b92ca60aRCRD
As you can see, those fees are set by the Government and you said you didn't pay them (Yssup-"
My wife is an American citizen now. But we never paid any fees") so I'm saying either you're a liar or you didn't bring your spouse in as a legal immigrant, plain and simple.

We need an electric fence and military at our southern border. But I guess it would also be a good idea to implement reform to which it would be easier for Mexican nationals to work, travel or whatever here legally than the way the vast majority do it now.

I did not pay a dime for my wife to emigrate to this country. She came in with a visa, renewed it and became a permanent resident when we married. I never said she was illegal.

To assume that this is he only country wih immigration laws and regulation is myopic on your part. Especially during the Cold War era.

Calling me a liar only exposes your stupidity and aggressiveness.

I answered your questions. You dodged mine and hurled insults. Then you put words in my mouth.

What's your point? And how are you on topic here? I'll repeat, this is about Herman Cain and the Mexicans he wants to electrocute.

Sounds like you have a different agenda. Like calling me a liar. How crude!

You 2 guys obviously have 2 different scenarios. DT sponsored his wife where as YR married one that was already here legally. Simple misunderstanding. The YR method is cheaper and less hassle.

This is what you stated:
" I think you're pissed that your immigraion lawyer too you to the bank and mine didnt. Tough shit. Should have asked those hard questions before you tried to bring a Martian into this country!"

As I pointed out, the fees I paid have nothing to do with an immigration lawyer. They have everything to do with what our Government tells me I must pay. Yet, ILLEGALS that walk across have to pay no fees, qualify for government assistance (which is refused to legal immigrants and can in fact be grounds for their deportation).
Sorry you can't see the stupidity in a policy that rewards illegal immigration.

To assume that this is he only country wih immigration laws and regulation is myopic on your part. Especially during the Cold War era.

WHAT? What in the world are you rambling on about now? Cold War? Other countries' immigration laws? How does that remotely have anything to do with what I asked you?

Calling me a liar only exposes your stupidity and aggressiveness.

I answered your questions. You dodged mine and hurled insults. Then you put words in my mouth.

You've answered nothing. You stated:
Again, I think that our borders shuld be open"
then followed that up with:
"THAT SHOLD BE CONTROL ISSUE AT THE BORDER"

So which is it Yssup, "open" borders or "controlled" borders?! You can't have it both ways.

What's your point? And how are you on topic here? I'll repeat, this is about Herman Cain and the Mexicans he wants to electrocute.

I believe it's on topic. My question was, if you don't like Herman Cain's electric fence policy, what's your alternative? Continuing to let millions of people walk into our country with no background check, no idea of where they are going, no inclination if they can sustain themselves or will become dependent on government hand outs?

Sounds like you have a different agenda. Like calling me a liar. How crude!
My "agenda" is to call it the way it is. People want to bitch and moan about militarizing the border or putting up a fence without having any viable alternatives to put forth.
