Bottom line is that EVERY guy on the Tour currently should look in his bank account and kiss Tiger's ass every chance he gets . . . for the record.

What is the over/under of Tiger making it to the weekend?

I don't agree, but I'll answer as if I do...

because Tiger's skill and charisma brought a dying sport back to life, increased interest in the game, and caused purses to skyrocket.. he also paved the way for minorities to break into competitive golf.

and he brought the word "Cablanasian" into the standard dictionary

Even odds that he will make the cut. I wouldn't bet in his favor because his short game is bad. Putting is about feel and confidence and he has neither right now.

If I was gona put some fun money down on a real bet this who I'd pick.
JB Holmes. Odds 75-1, Oh baby. He won last week beating Jordan Speith in a playoff and Speith is picked as the second favorite behind McElroy.
Holmes has the distance, he has the confidence , the only question is does he have the short game. He putted great last week. 75-1 Oh yes.

75-1 on Holmes? Are those Vegas odds? Holy shit...

Tiger brought a lot to golf, not the least of was TV ratings. People were watching him, especially minorities who never watched golf before. Bigger ratings beget more expensive TV commercials, which beget larger purses.

1st place money in nearly all PGA Tour events is a little over a million bucks. For four days of golf.

You know his problems are his Father's fault. Tiger hasn't played well since his divorce and only because his father told him "concentrate on the golf game and FUCK EVERYTHING ELSE"

I just check another sports odds website and Holmes is listed at 35-1, that's more realistic but it's still a fantastic bet. If I was in Vegas right now I'd bet $200 on Holmes , if I was a millionaire like some of you guys I'd bet $400 on him. For $200 ( the price of a half hour session with a mediocre provider ) I would stand to win about $6,300 after the vig.
You know I'm gona bring this thread up again if Holmes wins.

Tiger is too fucked up in the head to win, especially a major, and I will not be surprised if he fails to make the cut going into Sunday.

Tiger should play the exact same way at every tournament because he is getting paid to do so. If the grass is green, the sun is shining and the caddies show up then there is no reason he shouldn't give a perfect performance every time regardless of his personal circumstances. YMMV should never be a factor when that kind of pay is involved. He should show up and be perfect every time as long as the other people on the course have fulfilled their end of the arrangement while he is playing. No excuses.

If my bullshit radar is working, then THN is trying to make a futile attempt with an analogy of the what she says about someone's golf game to a provider in her performance in a session, then about it. What she fails to realize is that in golf or any other individual pro sport (tennis, bowling, ect.), if you are not performing well, then you DO NOT get the same pay and if it is bad enough, you do not get paid at all, and opposingly comparing that with providers, they DO get the same pay regardless of their performance, so there should be no comparison.

Most individuals will take themselves out of an event/tournament if they feel they cannot perform 100% for any reason, because they know they will not make enough/any money nor have the enjoyment of competing at a high level. Providers should cancel/reschedule if they feel or know they are not going to be able to give at least an honest and solid effort to be at their best in a BCD session. Some do, but most will not because it is easy money.
