But what I really believe is this. If things get so bad that the only viable currency is a shiney metal, then what you had better be invested in is a good 12 guage shotgun, lots of shells, and pork and beans. Because if things get that bad, the rioters will come and kill you for a can of beans, and leave the gold.

Have closets full of guns and ammo. My dad always said... Who do you think will eat? The ones with the food or the ones w the guns? I always said back.... The ones w bullets for the guns.
Anyone that ONLY stockpiles gold IS retarded.
I don't care what gold does. I'm not in it to get rich. I'm in it for diversification. In fact that's all the right has said is, please consider gold for diversification purposes. The fact that it's gone up a million % is beside the point.

I know what you're referring to. Wiener was the one that led the charge. Please tell me how buying gold is a scam.
And this is a perfect example if what I was saying about being programmed. Wouldn't it upset you just a little to find out you were being scammed or lied to by a source you trusted?

I am not talking about buying gold, that's not a scam, that's only stupid trading and stupid investing.
I'm talking about the coins he advises you to buy.
I think (I did the math months ago) that the $9.95 24 carat gold coins he promoted contain something like $0.60 in pure gold. That's a little over 5% of the value. The rest is just for the pretty coin. Try to sell that one when you need money.

I bought my silver at $22 an ounce. It is going for how much now?
I remember being in the gold souk in Bahrain many years ago. Gold was going for less than $400 an ounce.

I was going to sell my gold Rolex but I'm waiting a bit. Its a wee bit sentimental really--got it when I graduated from uni. I reckon I'll hold onto it a bit longer...
Now my mate who is Indian just got back from Mumbai said they are buying gold up like mad over there. Its also a bit of a religious thing as well as an investment thing for that lot.

I'll bet you're proud of George Zimmerman for defending your firearms and your "Stand Your Ground" rights.

Although they’re free to be crazy and free to support the Republican Party, you’d think Americans would be too smart to fall for the made-up outrages, dishonest reporting and relentless appeal to our meaner nature. Unfortunately, many Americans are not as smart as we used to assume: a huge swath of Americans (especially elderly white Southerners) believe FOX is just another news media outlet. They aren’t.
for example, calling Congressman Mark Foley a Democrat when he got caught in gay chatter with pages and calling Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords a Republican when there was an outpouring of sympathy for her after she got shot.
FOX took a sparsely-attended tea-party rally in Washington and spliced in video of a heavily-attended event of an entirely different nature from months earlier.
FOX alters poll results to mislead its viewers; in one case, their massacre of a Rasmussen poll on climate change ended up with a poll number of 120%–mathematically impossible, of course, except in FOX world.
I personally SAW these in red first hand!
In the summer of 2003, 34% of Americans who did not follow the news very closely believed evidence had been found that linked Iraq with al Qaeda before the U.S. invasion. 42% of people who were moderate consumers of FOX news had that opinion. Among those who “watched FOX News very closely” … that number was 80% !! ~Political Science Quarterly, Vol. 118, #4 THE MORE YOU WATCH FOX, THE LESS YOU KNOW!
Fox News presented a clip of Joe Biden criticizing John McCain’s “the fundamentals of the economy are strong” statement…. Problem is, this was something Biden was QUOTING…from SIX MONTHS EARLIER… but it was edited by FOX to make it seem that Biden was stating it as his own opinion. The bogus clip was introduced by Live Desk co-host Martha MacCallum as comments Biden had made in interviews THIS WEEKEND.
This in red, too!
FOX pushed the bogus stat that cap-and-trade would cost “every American family $1,761 annually.” PolitiFact.com has labeled the statistic false and noted that the talking point has been pushed by Republicans.
Here is just one of the Politifact links: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...ost-consumer-/
In another story on the same quote by another politician, Politifact labeled it totally false and even used their "Pants On Fire" graphic to describe the lie.
It’s against the law to lie on television in Canada. Canadian conservatives tried to change that law so FOX could broadcast in Canada. They were unable to get the law changed, so FOX does not operate in Canada!
Apparently, Canada wants no part of fictional news:

Thanks for a GREAT and TRUTHFUL post, Big Louie. The only criticism is COG's predictable but hardly factual (in a quantity sense) "but they do it, too!"
Then there is JD's moronic and hollow straw man admonition for "plagarism" which is really spelled "plagiarism". (His actual retort used the word "plagiarizing")

I watch Fox when there is a Democrat president and CNN when there is a Republican president. You never hear the bad stuff if you don't. If you cannot tell that Fox leans right and CNN leans left, you need more help than I can provide.

All you've done is add your usual array of meaningless posts to this thread. Go back the ORIGINAL TOPIC and refute ANY fact Big Louie posted, loser.
You haven't got the information or the intelligence to do so.
