I'm going to go out on a limb with a guess that the original receipt thing is likely 99% bullshit and she probably did it herself.

All I'll say about the support she's gotten and a negative being turned into a positive is GOOD.

Whether the receipt was bogus or not racism is still big in this country and unless you're a different race who are you to say how someone feels. This girl could be trying to work to get to college, supporting her family or siblings. So if you're not her who are you to say she didn't deserve it. When someone wins the lottery do you have the same reaction (or just if their black?) Some providers seem to be on their high horses all the time.

Well since im the only provider that voiced my opinion I can only assume youre speaking of me. Well blondie, honey, im raising my 3 sons, all of which ARE BIRACIAL (mixed) and I'll be damned if I bring them up in a world showing them its ok to use their black race to scam people. I raise them to get straight A's, strive at sports and volunteer every year to serve thanksgiving dinner to the elderly in a retirement home. We donate their old clothes and they know never to judge anyone for what they dont have. So, yes, I CAN SPEAK on this subject. My sons and I struggled for a long time before we started doing good and every time they got called a derogatory name, do you think they posted it on facebook for some sympathy? No, because they have learned those are just words. So if this is what you consider being on a high horse, you got it all backwards sweetheart. Ive been called nasty names, as well as my sons have.
But the ignorant will get their karma, GUARANTEED! And, me, ill go back to my high horse. Know something about someone before you assume im a racist.

We can do w/e we want on our facebook's. Things get out all the time after someone else sees something on someone's FB or youtube or w/e and it goes viral and becomes big news. Not particularly special. If someone had given me a receipt like that I'd have probably posted it too just off of the asburdity that someone could possibly write that especially as a tip (super cute). We all handle our anger and/or how we vent differently.
Some black people might use the race card too easily (sure it's not impossible).....however let me tell you the shit my black ass don't like. The shit I don't like is someone that doesn't look like me telling me what's not there when I see it and I KNOW it's not all in my pretty black head, tell me i'm being too sensitive when i'm far from from it. Sometimes WE don't have to pull the race card when it's been done for us (like someone calling me a derogatory name with their mouth or in writing). It's just a word .... a very nasty word and to some folks a hurtful word (or a word that'll get you slapped six ways to Sunday).
Oh and black people being all of sudden MORE racist than anybody else is pretty laughable. And wait what did that have to do with this girl's situation in the first place btw? Anyways ... of course some being racist is completey possible.....there are plenty in every creed but for us to be MORE than anyone else just hmmmm nooooo doesn't sit right (if only for our country's long and illustrious history of race relations).

I was responding to the statement that because she was black she must have been running a scam. I didn't say I know anything of your life cause you can live it how you want but you also don't know anything about hers or what she does or doesn't deserve. All races can scam and everyone learns how to hustle to survive. That was the point.

A waitress claimed she was called a racist name on a receipt. Thats where the race topic came into play. My statement was made based on personal experiences as well as some statistics I pulled up. I think racism is ignorant, but it does exist and these statistics will amaze some of y'all.

Very true. I just disagree with using race as a way to scam the naive.

I didn't see it as a way to scam people out of their money. People saw it and made the decision on their own to give money for it.
I see provider sob stories all the time... my car broke down, my laptop got stolen, I have my period, etc. If someone has something shitty happen to them, it is perfectly alright for them to feel some type of way about that. It is also their right to voice their displeasure in their treatment on their form of social networking (like this web site)... but, if someone cries about their situation on this site and guys try to see her in order to help out with her situation because THEY want to... no one is getting scammed. The first thing those guys will tell you is that what they do with their money is their own business and to not be jealous that money wasn't coming to you.
Could the story be bullshit... quite possibly. However, their response shows more about them... and your responses say more about you.

Well when I see a provider get a $10,000 check for crying about her period, that'll be the day. And my responses arent about me at all, they're simply my opinion. My sons have to hear other kids say nasty stuff to them but I would never encourage them to post it on fb as a form of sympathy. True, she may not have asked for the money, but she wanted some type of reaction, yes? And if guys see a provider in distress, she IS WORKING for that money. And my responses sure do say a lot about me....I will work for anything I need, I wont cry on a public site for sympathy, and I teach my 3 mixed sons to be tough skinned and ignore ignorance not use others ignorance for sympathy and attention, and lastly, I will never scam anyone. So, im honest, tough, intelligent, and definitely not a crybaby. Im glad my responses speak that of me. You mention jealousy, but honey honey you're way wrong. Not all money is good money, so I prefer to earn mine by working, not feeling sorry for myself. And im shocked that you think their responses show the good in them. I seen at least 4 homeless people yesterday, one of which had small children. Good people help those poor people, not a crying waitress whose little feelings got hurt. Then again, these are just my responses, my thoughts and my opinion.

Man overhears sad tale in diner, secretly pays for meal
When one mystery diner in a Boston restaurant overheard a mother and daughter get some bad news, he took out a pen and scribbled this note to his waiter: "Do me a favor and bring me their check, too. Someone just got diagnosed. Don't tell them." The waiter, impressed by his customer's act of kindness, posted the note on Reddit — and we're glad he did. (Now we get to have our " faith in humanity restored," too.) The waiter, known as Whiskkas on Reddit, writes that the two women started crying after the daughter received a phone call mid-meal, and that he then combined the two bills as requested. He added: "I waited until the guy left and told them he had taken care of their check, and that he said best wishes, which was what he said to do on the note he wrote me on his second bill. The mother cried even harder, I almost lost it."
