I have a nice incall, fairly intelligent, well traveled, positive outlook on the hobby/life, and I'm not THAT ugly, LOL.

Nothing wrong with your rate - there are downsides to the higher financial demand.
However, I like my men. I like going to dinner with them, I like traveling with them. I've gotten to know them very well and have felt a week together has gone by far too quikly. No provider ever HAS to do anything, we always have the option to say no.

Lauren identified the passage I found oddly intriguing: Some providers evidently feel compelled to bang a guy with whom they wouldn't eat a salad-- even if he paid for the salad-eating time. Which implies to me that dispassionate sex is less emotionally taxing to providers than chewing on arugula.
It's nice to know precisely where I fall on at least *some* Provider's Hierarchy of Needs (with apologies to Maslow).

Probably from your perspective but unfortunately not everyone is as blessed as you.
There are women with children in this country that while not having a gun to their head are in a financial bind. Doing something they might not enjoy is in fact the lesser of two evils. So while 'no' may be an option it is not a valid one.
No damn wonder there are those that roll their eyes at this forum from time to time.
Please do not think I am picking on you and report me to a moderator. They're busy enough judging britch's! Seriously though, this caviler attitude on what every HDH should at least be aware of befuddling. You ladies should know that while in theory what you say sounds great, there is a whole 'nother world out there.

I agree that reviews are not a great way to get a feel for the mindset of the lady. It's better to go straight to the horses mouth. (i.e. the wording in her ads, and her own posts.) Talking on the phone for a few minutes is also an excellent idea.
When you said "These ladies had lots of reviews", one little word stood out to me: LOTS. I've been in this world for four years and have only 12 reviews. I never asked anyone not to write a review; in fact, when asked if I'd like one I always said yes.
So the ladies who have lots of reviews are either seeing a lot more people than I am or our percentage of review-writing-clientele is different for some reason. (I don't have any theories on why that would be so I'm associating "lots of reviews" with high volume).

True, true, true. I can laugh, love and treat a man like is the only person in the world...for 2 hours. I have tried traveling and the overnights, but it just doesn't work for me. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE MENS. Honestly, I think it has something to do with my personality. The travel dates and extended times I had with clients was pleasant, but a little confusing for me. After 2 or more days with someone I noticed an interesting dynamic forming...are we friends? Are we lovers? It all seemed ( and this is going to sound funny) very Escort-y, and NOT in a bad way. My emotional make-up just doesn't jive with that, I wish it did. Make sense?
Now I do believe my service is different for several reasons. Up until last year I was a Massage with extras provider. I worked and owned a studio for 5 years in Dallas. So my mindset is on a very structered amount of time, but that doesn't mean the "session" is any less passionate, fun, or fulfulling than a weekend away.
I admire the ladies in this forum. I can only imagine the preparation, money, and time spent just for one client...but then again, that's why you make the big bucks LOL.
One more thing...I enjoy dinner with clients "off the clock" simply because it's less pressure for me.

Wow, I'm a big mouth this morning...too much coffee. I know you are not referring to me, WTF. A little perspective from my side, while I'm not a HDH (well I am a hottie) my progression into this business was at a slow and comfortable pace. It wasn't out of desperation. I enjoy my schedule, my clients, and I do make a very nice living. Yes, there are some who probably jumped in because they couldn't pay their bills or even eat, however some of us just like to keep it simple.
I enjoy the people on this forum and I think the ladies are kind, thoughtful, and down-to-earth. I'm sure they are well aware of the "other world".
Ok, I will stop boring you now.

You are not boring me....but let me ask you this. If they are aware of the 'other' world why say this "No provider ever HAS to do anything, we always have the option to say no."
I realize that this is not a two headed coin. One is not either/or HDH/ 'Other World'. It is a multifaceted world. You may be part of neither. Or have your toe in both. But just because I say/think one is a HDH does not automatically make others part of the shadier part of the 'other world'. But to deny that part of the business is just burying one's head in the sand.
You may not realize it but I do understand your perspective better than just about any lady in this forum that has not worked in the massage type biz or worked at a shitty one. You obviously worked at a nice one
I will ask you, do you disagree with what I stated or just how I stated it?
One last thing....be leery of ladies that proclaim that all their suitors are perfect. That is not reality, that is marketing which in a way is the reality!.

I agree with what you stated, however I do believe that all any lady in this forum has to do is venture out to the other forums and they will have an automatic understanding of the 'other world'. I took the "no provider ever HAS to do anything" statement as the truth. We talk about this in the GT forum all the time. Of course it means different things to different providers.
I should have been more clear (again), my post was more of a general statement and not directed at you specifically...
Yes, I worked at a very nice one. We always had a choice and no one was there out of desperation...we just liked the extra shopping money. I like to spend my money on travel...I can take 3 months off at a time and go to Europe, I love it.

BR-dude, your going to have some strike outs in this hobby, and your going to hit some homeruns. Its the nature of the hobby, even if the lady has good reviews. I too am fairly new to the hobby, but I did eventually hit a grand slam. Don't give up. Find you a AFT, or a couple, and you'll be glad you didn't take up golf.
Nicole-glad your in the business. You do appear to be a very intelligent woman, your clients are lucky to have you. Nice pics in your showcase, your hot. Next time I'm in Dallas I'll have to give you call.

I've met Nicole in real life. I'm actually one of those people she had dinner with "off the clock" LOL! I can confirm that she is intelligent, well-travelled, interesting, and much prettier than her pictures. The thing that amazed me most was the beauty of her voice! She really has a pretty voice.

Lets not forget the fact that everyone who has ever worked in almost any job has had to eat a "shit sandwich" or two. We all make those lesser of two evil choices many times -- the only difference is the nature of the choices. I've seen some "real job" assignments that are pretty degrading too.

Absolutely! When I worked in a Salon, I had to sweep hair off the floor for two weeks before I graduated to shampoo girl. This after spending 13k for Cosmotology School! And again I will be starting at the bottom when I finish Culinary School...

I'll suggest 3 things:
1) A sample size of 2 may not be statistically significant. Maybe you just got 2 medicore (for lack of a better word) gals in a row. Try again.
2) Maybe you need to recalibrate your expectations. The term GFE means a lot of things to different people, but it really doesn't happen all the time, even with great providers, particularly on a first date.
3) Could you, through your body language or otherwise have come across, as nervous, unsure or "businesslike" yourself (perfectly normal for a newbie)? A natural reaction is for her to mirror your behavior and that may have come across as "businesslike"
