What does separation do? The mechanics I know, one being a marine mechanic, love it. My ex husband is weary. He has warned using to much causes issues.
This summer I had an issue with getting it started at Sand Island. It would not engage. He thought it was Seafoam that caused it.

I don't know about Vail Mills; I've gotten my Ethanol-Free gas at the one on Market Street. I used to be able to get real gas at Gendrons in Albany, but they no longer carry it.
You can always check the website
www.pure-gas.org. It's usually pretty up to date.
Personally, I don't like using ANY additives in my fuel. However, I can't drive 25mi every time I want to fill up (I did make the run to fill up b/f I put the car away this year, then added the Star Tron in case any ethanol remained. We'll see.) I have used Seafoam in lawnmowers and snowthrowers that had been sitting, with good success.
Without getting too technical, ethanol is hydrophilic; that is, it attracts water. Phase separation occurs when gasohol is allowed to sit; the ethanol will precipitate out and sit at the bottom of your tank. It cannot be remixed once phase separation occurs. Worse, water will form a boundary layer between the gasoline and the ethanol once phase separation occurs. This water layer can cause a ring of corrosion around your aluminium gas tank in a very short period of time: almost looks like someone takes a laser and cuts off the bottom of the tank.
