I don't know, I've always found GBN helpful. Not in all areas I travel to, but for the Quad Cities its worthwhile.
I've never had any trouble with PM's or accessing areas of the site, but I have been donating for years. Its nice to have both this site and GBN available for verifying references and learning about area activity. I wish Eccie was more active in my area. It seems to have a higher amount of members in the larger cities, but who knows what the future holds.

Never noticed that gbn was having issues then again I only have time to login about once a week. however I get equal business from both gbn and eccie. Also I've never had an issue with admin responding to me usually I hear back within hours idk I paid my membership just last week. You just get a green dot card from Walmart and pm him the number. That's what I did or I believe you can mail your payment in as well.

I have been a member on there for years and had PM privileges (both reply and receive) but as of the past 6 months they took my PM privileges away without telling me why and even my posting ads privileges. And I got sarcastic PM's from the owner suggesting I need to pay to be a donor to get those privileges back.

I've been a member at GBN for a couple years now. I'm neither in the clique or an ass kisser. There's benefits to both sites. There and here. Remember, there's jerks and assholes in every walk of life!

As far as making money, I look at it as such. Simple math tells me there isn't any money to be made operating that site. I don't know how many paying members there are. But for the sake of argument, lets say there's 100 paying members at $25 each, which is a whole whapping $2500. 200 would be $5000. I'm sure the advertising banners aren't very much either. So, for all the BS someone has to put up with....I'd say it's more headache then glory. And nothing more then a hobby in it's self. Just my humble opinion.

Seems to me most of the complaints are that the GBN limits the amount of Private Messages before one must support the site with a $25 donation per year to continue the privilege. If you don't think it's a benefit to you then move on.

That's $2.08 a month.
