Oh give it up already numbnuts, you're not even close. That's a QUARTERLY value, not yearly. Here's the BEA table for 2008.
http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/nati...df/gdp109p.pdf
Scroll down to Table 11, page 13. Profits by quarter, 2008
I. 1,593.5 II. 1,533.3 III. 1,514.8 IV. 1,264.5
All I did for 2009 is take an average of $1.25 and multilpied it by 4. Since you continue to bust my balls and waste my time, here's the actual values by quarter for 2009:
I. 1,182.7 II. 1,226.5 III. 1,358.9 IV. 1,467.6
Those values can can also be found here from the BEA site, again Table 11, page 13.
http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/2010/pdf/gdp4q09_3rd.pdf
Add those numbers up you'll get $5.23 Trillion for 2009. Nobody's promoting anything, I only deal in facts. Now I'm sorry if you don't know the difference between quarterly and yearly profits, but I think we can call this discussion over.

I believe you took a projected annual number from third quarter of 2009 and extrapolated an annual number.
Statistics used by people promoting an agenda are always misused. For you only F-sharp (its probably too boring for everyone else - including me):
