My wife says that Mi Charrito in Wedgewood (FTW) has the best sour cream chicken enchiladas. Personally I hate chicken Mexican food.
The best cheese enchiladas I have had in my life are at Tres Hermanos in Whitney. Just incredible.
40 plus years ago someone wrote to the Star Telegram complaining about Joe Ts saying they don't even have menus. Well back then you had to go through the kitchen to get to the dining room. If you wanted a beer while you waited, you just reached in the cooler and got one. Once you got to your table the waits person would ask if you wanted dinner. You best say yes, because in fact, they didn't use menus.
Anyway the reply to the complaint in the newspaper was..."Joe Ts isn't a restaurant. It's an experience!" Unfortunately the health department ruined the "experience" and you no longer go through the kitchen. It's still a cool place to take out of town visitors as I am doing next weekend.

The best tacos in DFW are found at Fuel City at Industrial and 30 in Dallas. A close runner up is Taqueria El Si Hay at 601 W. Davis in Dallas. The best tacos in Fort Worth for those that don't want to drive to Dallas are at Granny's Taco Stand at 703 Long Ave.

Dinner?
Maybe we should put something together? We could take a poll from the thread and set up a dinner at the winning restaurant. I have done this a few times for Providers/Hobbyists at Italian restaurants. Made for a very nice, fun evening for 15 or 20 people. The guys would all chip in and split up the bill, with the ladies being our guests. No door fee, take care of your own bar tab and no messing around under the table, lol. Anybody interested?

The Uncle Julio's on the Tollway and Keller Springs might be a good place. It has a patio and things might get a little loud. Of course we might have to wait till late February or March when things warm up. It would be a great place for a Nicole Preston send-off.
They don't even have Taco Bells in London!
I am willing to check out Carolina's at Parker and 75. It has a patio, live music, and a Farmer's Market atmosphere out back.
Joe T's with it's outdoor ambience would be cool too.
It doesn't have to be outdoors, so any input on a private room with flair would be helpful.
Now we have to start factoring in Margaritas.

Excellent Ideas, Cookie man. Live music would be a hoot. I am hungry now and I think we could pull this together in the next week or two. Uncle Julios is great, Papasitos, and others, any of which would be great. They would be glad to set us up a big table somewhere. Not a lot of planning would be necessary, let's just pick a night, take names and make a reservation. Not really a need for privacy either, just a big group at a big table having some fun. It would be interesting to see which restaurant gets the most votes. Then we could do Chinese, then Italian, then Steak, etc. Call it the ECCIE Dinner Club. Or you creative types can come up with a better name for it.

That idea seems great PM.
Since your thinking of a good-bye dinner for Nicole, make sure she approves of the place and its close to her. . .
Just Saying.
You seem to be great @ putting together good food and awesome people.

Are you trying to get rid me already?
I went to a Tex-Mex restaurant in Brussels in 2008...it was actually pretty good. I also saw Tex-Mex in Berlin. They had Texas flags on the patio and country music! LOL

Love the atmosphere at Joe T's in FTW...food is good as well.
Anamias (as noted above) had very good table side guacamole, I love most everything they have, their margs are strong, but expensive.
Blue Goose has the best Chili Rellonos (sp?) with some kind of sweet tasting filling (nuts of some kind) plus much more reasonable margs.
Love me some good Tex-Mex.

Uncle Julio's is good, but its hard for me to really endorse a chain. I really like the idea of smaller, independent restaurants. However, we can still meet there and celebrate Nicole's staying in Dallas!
La Calle Doce is great (unbelievable flautas, Mexican shrimp cocktail, salsa, tres leches), as is their sister restaurant El Ranchito (great cabrito). Gloria's black bean dip and super fresh tasting salsa are the perfect start to a meal, and their flan is some of the best in the city.
