hahaha.. that's a lot of the problem.. he did do it, but all along he saw nothing wrong with what he was doing.. I could almost buy the stupid comeback, that "Mr. Bush's arm is at waist level while in his wheelchair", according to his publicist.. except that Bush prefaced his ass grabs with the David Cop-a-feel remark.. this old Coot actually felt (pun intended) entitled to grab whatever ass he wanted.. a 90 year old Fucker in a wheelchair feels powerful enough to grab ass while his wife of 70-something years looks on.. we should really examine that, and try to learn.. instead, we wink and let it go.. Old Codgers will be Old Codgers.

Folks need to hang around an assisted living center every once in awhile. Elderly people saying and doing inappropriate things is common as dirt. Raising this to Weinstein-like levels is sorry.

I don't doubt that.. but Bush has handlers, even Secret Service that goes with him wherever he goes (I got held up by them last November, in fact, at the Toyota Center in Houston, where He and I attended the Barbra Streisand concert.. thankfully I sat 2 sections away, he couldn't make a play for my ass).. these people kept silent, they knew Bush was a serial David Cop-a-feeler, and did nothing. same as all the Weinstein sycophants.

Sexual abuse is about power; physical, professional, etc. GHWB does not have power over these women. Now, if these accusations dated back to his presidency, I’d feel differently.

I respectfully disagree. he has power due to his status as an ex-President, and a career in various top-level positions in Government. the same status that affords him Secret Service protection today. if he has no power, why did at least 3 women wait for years to go public? why did Bush blatantly cop feels, while making David cop-a-feel jokes, in front of his wife and others?

because he has the power to do so.. this is not an ordinary disabled Codger.. it is President Bush.. that title = POWER

That’s BS, Chung. He can’t do anything to them. He has a title. He can’t walk, he can’t overpower them. He can’t ruin their careers. If there is evidence these women were threatened in any way, by him, his family or the Secret Service, then I’ll back off my position. Until then, it’s not the same in my eyes.

but that's why this issue is so complex TinMan.. a lot of guys only think in terms of physical power, or a Boss who can affect employment. if you don't fall into either category, you don't have power over someone. think about it from the women's POV.. Bush grabs their ass in front of everyone, Barbara Bush included, after a sleazy remark.. you are there to pose with Bush, BECAUSE he has status (power).. nobody around him does anything, says anything.. what are you supposed to do, slap Bush and tell him "get your grubby hand off my ass, you pervert"?! no, his "power", which those around you acknowledge by their silence and indifference, keeps you frozen.. you tell nobody, except a close girlfriend.

I disagree, too, that he can't ruin their careers.. a well-placed phone call from a high-level Bush confidant could absolutely ruin their career.

Yeah, my dad has completely lost his filter. He says and does completely inappropriate things.

Imagine seeing a nice ass, thinking that you'd like to to grab it, and lacking the part of your brain that says, "You shouldn't do that, it's not right." Old people become like little kids again, acting on impulses instead of thinking about their actions.

Let me ask you this, Chung. Have you ever cared for an elderly parent? One who says and does inappropriate things? Perhaps due to early onset dementia, which is often not detected? Have you tried to tell them what they’re doing is wrong, but they continue committing those sins? How do you stop them from continuing their pattern of behavior?

You can’t. I know. I’ve been there. It is deeply embarrassing, but at some point you’re tired of apologizing on their behalf. And none of it is within your control. Or theirs.

I don't care what his reasons were...... what's the point of making it to be 93 if you can't be that old guy who says and does what you want with zero fucks given because you're almost dead. That's the only thing to look forward to at that age, and you're taking it away from him....

I'll strike the same note TinMan, I made the points I wanted to make.. I don't know what the Bush family shoes has to do with your argument.. are you shifting away from the dementia angle? seems like you are suggesting the Bush's have been crapped on, and this is one more episode of one relieving her bowels on a defenseless old man. I think the Bush's have sycophants surrounding them, power corrupting them, and Bush grab-ass is one indicator of that.
