This was a fairly heavily debated topic when ASPD first formed in December of 1999 and January of 2000. Arguments were made both ways. I was in the let them post camp, and still am. I think it enriches the community quite a bit to have the point of view from both sides of the hobby.

The opposing viewpoint was that there would be more honest discussion without providers. I don't think that is true. They will lurk, or have their white knights (a term not then invented) report to them no matter what the policy on the board. If you don't have the guts to post honestly to their face, I can't imagine you'll have the guts to do it behind their back when you know that they're getting the word shortly by other means.

The system has worked well in the past and, IMHO, continues to work well.

Some sig lines are huge and if you turn it off, the potential clients may need to work the mouse a few extra clicks but they can find the contact info if they want.

That about covers it for me. Coed, by definition is, well, coed. I guess the rub comes when someone forgets the part about posting a "strong" opinion might (will?) open the floor to different opinions. If you've got 'em, want to put 'em out there, then be ready and able to defend 'em. And, if some wish to start a thread which has as a primary objective to start some "excitement," it's just being a troll - maybe a clever one, but a troll nonetheless. Passive aggression is such a weak schtick.

There are plenty of ways to pose a question or give an opinion, but "don't confuse me with the facts - my mind's made up and you have to think like me" probably isn't the way to go for either men or women.

I kinda stops posting threads for the reason you just mention. Some men think they are threads. Some are stuck in the old days where women are seen not heard. When infact they should want to know if the provider can carry a simple conversation and give a good bj........Just saying

I really like the fact that the men here appreciate the providers threads. That means alot. The gents find out if the ladies is smart, crazy, or just wacky. And the ladies get to know the gents personality. I think this helps when making decision making with both ladies and gents.

It can also give us other insight.

Sometimes you can tell if her "man" is the one posting her ads. Rarely do you see the ones with management on here conversing in Co-ed threads and if so, the writing styles are many times very different and in some of those cases, one side or the other has lost some IQ points....

Posting while drunk is another error that both guys and girls have been guilty of from time to time....

I especially enjoy the drunken (or uneducated) rants that go on forever without even the hint of punctuation, paragraph breaks, or God forbid, spell check.

Rarely see those rants from clients who have enjoyed enough success enough in life to be able to pay for that young hottie to get naked with him.
