Boltfan, I think you should agree that as a fellow Lakers fanatic, that these Mavs fans are too funny.
Sure the Mavs have been a better team this series - there is no question about that. In my opinion, the Lakers should be up 2-1 if they properly closed out games, but they aren't. And I give credit to the Mavs for that. The Mavs have been great, and Dirk has been incredible. The Mavs absolutely deserve to be up 3-0.
But as a true Lakers fan, I'm not greedy. The Lakers have won 5 of the last 12 championships. Again, I'm not greedy. That's enough for me. All great things come to an end...The Mavs won't win a damn thing any time soon. They'll beat the Lakers, but there will be no championship. And you guys will be happy that they beat the Lakers. As a Lakers' fan, it's either a championship, or the season is a waste, and that's how we differ as fans.

OR
They might go 1 and 1 and the Mavs win game 5 over in LA or wait to win game 6 at home for the fans or even better, the Mavs will sweep!! I think they have answered the Laker's big men, (there may be a reason the Gasol is not playing very well, could it be that the Mavs defense on him?). The Lakers have no answers for Dirk, Jet or even JJ, unless a clothesline to the face is an answer!

Was at game three, the AAC atmosphere was awesome. Mavs can sweep if the bench plays like they did and can keep Bryant and Bynum in the bench like last night.

Well, actually there were two pivotal contributors in the series you are referencing. You forgot to mention Bennette Salvator.
This is the best Mavs team I have seen. They don't crumble under pressure down the stretch as in days of old. I think Dirk is actually better in the playoffs than previous years. It seems inconceivable that given the way the Mavs are playing that they couldn't get 1 out of the next 4.
But, maybe Stern will make sure Salvatore gets in on the action again.
Go Mavs! Close out the Fakers!

This is a different Mav team.
No crying and not backing down.
Gotta love the attitude.
Game 4 should be interesting.
GO Mavs!

I'll give it to the Mavs. I didn't think they stood a chance. I knew Gasol had been overused this season and that he had dead legs, but I didnt think that it would matter. Hell, the Lakers would be up 2-1 if they played hard in the 4th and closed out the games. But I have to credit the Mavs. They have been closers for a change. Dirk has been awesome. But anyone that knows basketball knows that jump shot teams don't win rings. And JJ looks like Isiah Thomas when he lines up against 63 year old Derek Fisher, but I'm pretty sure that he will come back down to Earth against OKC. (full disclosure - I started the playoffs hoping for a chicago/okc final)

Lucas, I am right there with you except one item. IF, and I say big IF, the Mavs can play this way (driving to the hoop, not settling for jumpers, pressuring the bigs) they do have a chance to do something special.
The problem is the mavs don't play this way with any consistency. The "pile on" mavs fans here have that worry deep down inside. THAT is why the lost to D-Wade and Shaq in Miami, not some bogus mysterious ref conspiracy.
Hell I enjoy watching the Mavs play this way, just hate that it comes at the expense of the Lakers. Kobe is looking a bit tired or the effect of his injuries cannot be hidden anymore. 3rd all time in playoff scoring will do that to you. 5 championships and more games played since '99 than any other player in that span will do that to you. Myopic Mavs fans, I know you don't get that stat and you will forever hate on Kobe. Logical mavs fans know the opportunity is now because Kobe has aged and cannot carry his team through a series as he has done in the past.
Lucas, I'll bet you did like seeing Bynum make a pretty big leap forward as a potential leader for this team. He was vocal and demanded attention. The problem was they went away from him a little to much in the second half. Bodes well for future Laker championship runs.
Mavs, better sieze the day, because you don't have any future bright stars for tomorrow. If your championship is beating the Lakers then you need to wake up. If they can keep up this intensity for 9 more wins I will be happily suprised.

Oh and Bigdog, take some f'ing responsibility for once. YOU brought those "joking" comments on yourself by admitting you embellish in reviews. YOU admitted it. Funny, humor, haha, remember this is still a SHMB.

Yeah, I bet he is happy about that. Bynum just upped his stock in Orlando when they are looking for trade partners for Dwight Howard next season.

Man I don't know about that. Not sure if I want Dwight Howard instead of Bynum. Howard is a nice player but I think Bynum has more upside and is younger.

Bynum is young, but he has knees like Bill Walton's feet.
