Floyd was a Slave in life. a Slave to his personal Demons. a drug addict with an extensive criminal history. Jesus Christ died brutally, but he lived an exemplary life. Does Floyd get to be Jesus-like, simply because he died in a brutal manner AND is black?

I'm not even going to mention (ok, I guess I am) places like Seattle and Portland, where people burned and destroyed entire neighborhoods in the name of George Floyd justice. Huh???

I won't be surprised at all, to see Floyd heralded as a great Father, this Father's Day weekend. With his Daughter's quote as a form of evidence. Let's stop the Deification of George Floyd. Nothing positive can come from an absurd identity.

I've been critical of many if not most of your posts, but you NAILED this one. I agree completely.

One small suggestion, since one of Floyd's last acts on Earth was to pass counterfeit money, combined with the fact that Bill Clinton is already on the Three Dollar Bill (and yes I voted for him) I think it would be more appropriate to have Floyd's face on all new "fifty cent" bill, not to be confused with the Rapper of the same name of course. lol

I saw the video from immediately before the Night Sticks reigned down on him. Dude was high on PCP, and kept charging Officers like a Wild Boar. He got off easy, not being shot.

Don't get me wrong, there are many legitimate victims of police brutality and even murder. I just think that they couldn't have found a LESS sympathetic "victim" to most of us than Floyd if they tried. I just can't bring myself to shed a single tear for someone as loathsome as George Floyd. Society is better off without him.

Before 1999. Somewhere after that time it became a slur for some people. Probably AP style guide. A Chinese woman I worked with didn't know until her daughter informed her.

The rationale revolves around oriental is a adjective that can only be applied to nouns that are inanimate objects. Same verbal linquistics as "people of color."
