Bingo! Someone mentioned Meshak's in Garland. Tough to find, but killer ribs (small ones) and great baked beans with brisket mixed in.

Angelo's is still pretty good, but I haven't been impressed with Pecan Lodge. Guess it's because my standards are high (nothing beats Hill Country bbq). Locally, I like the ribs at Back Country BBQ on Greenville, or the baby backs at Peggy Sue's BBQ (terrific fried pies for dessert).

Remember, though....bbq is very subjective. What floats my boat will be nothing special to someone else.

Hell I even like Bakers ribs. lol Fancy smanchy bbq just isnt what i like. A good bbq pit with smoked wood chips and a good slab of meet and bbq sauce. And it's on.

Hutchins BBQ Not in Dallas but McKinney.....I'm a big BBQ fan and seek it out when I travel.....Some of the best I've had!

My favorite BBQ place is Hard 8 in Coppell. Their brisket is wonderful. Railhead in Fort Worth is good too. Angelo's is okay, but a distant third in my opinion.

I agree, nothing beats hill country. I drive over 3 hours just to eat. Chaisin Tails in Hickory Creek near Lake Dallas is not bad. I've heard Coopers at the Stockyards is kick ass. Coopers in Llano is one of the best According to reviews I've read.
