100% false, you idiot. Once again you open your pie hole in an attempt to denigrate the Cowboys or their fan base and you show your ignorance. When are you gonna stop wading into this pool of stupidity that you seem to find so much pleasure in?
For the record.....
The nickname
America's Team was created and marketed by Ed Sabol's NFL Films....specifically by (filmmaker) Bob Ryan while producing and editing the Dallas Cowboys 1978 season highlight film.
From his Philadelphia apartment, Ryan came up with the idea one evening; attributing the name to the broad (national) appeal the Cowboys had...much akin to other iconic teams, such as Notre Dame and the New York Yankees. It caught on quickly....CBS and MNF announcers ran with it the following season and it's been as such ever since.
Landry hated the nickname because he felt it put a bulls eye on the team....Schramm, on the other hand, embraced it since it put an even brighter spotlight on the franchise as a whole.
Make no mistake about it, Dallas was America's Team years before the cliché was even coined.....tv execs would be the first to acknowledge that fact since the Cowboys were (and always have been) Ratings Gold.
