Looks like Denver is going to be one of the top teams in the AFC and win that division. The AFC West has to be the weakest division in the NFL. I doubt the Cowboys would win more in the AFC West because this version of America's team sucks.

I think HOuston Texans will make another strong run in the Playoffs so at least Texas will have one good team. Also Pittsburg and Baltimore will be very strong in the AFC. And although I think the Patriots will have another great year, their superstars are aging and they wont go very far into the playoffs.

Thank goodness for some great college football. I am so happy for TCU being in the Big 12 and they should have a great year. But of course the SEC is the top dogs of College Football, man they have some great teams and I think Texas A&M might regret having to play so many top teams.

But whatever its almost time for football and cooler weather.
I laugh out loud when people bring up Romo as the problem/reason the Cowboys havent gone to next level...His 102 QB rating last year was fourth in league (Brees, Brady and Rodgers)...How many teams would have taken his 31 TDs and 10 ints? Probably 20 of them...The Cowboys have two fundamental flaws....They dont rush the passer very well AND they dont protect their QB very well...When you factor in that Romo was running for his life most of last year, his stats are even more amazing...
Watch a game every now and then, instead of relying on a botched FG and couple other ill timed bad plays, and your perspective would become lil more clear...
Last note to Cowboy Haters....WOW, the '90s must have SUCKED for ya...

The Cowboys starters looked good last night against the Rams. I really think if Murray touches the ball about 25 times a game we will have a chance to win games.

The Cowboys did look good against St Louis. Of course St Louis is going through a rebuilding and how many games did the Rams win last year?

My dislike for the Cowboys stems from a long ago situation that I will not discuss here. That said,

Jerry Jones has done nothing to dispel my dislike, and the tax payer support of the Death Star in Arlington put them further down my list. I have personally vowed never to pay to attend anything in the palace that Jerry had the taxpayers build to him.

Default Tax Payer Percentage

Do you have any idea what percentage of the cost that tax payers paid for the stadium?
Im sure most people would guess that it was 80% or 75% or at least half.
Actually, the Arlington portion was capped at 325 million.
Have you been around the stadium in the last year or two?
The roads have been upgraded, severely upgraded in some instances.
Numerous new restaurants and nicer Hotels have opened. Some seedy notel type motels have been closed.
The Cotton Bowl is an annual event, as well as at least a couple other Bigtime
college games, such as Mich/Bama this Sat, that draw at least 75,000 fans.
This generates a minimum of 20,000 hotel room rentals, for one or two nites.
Two to four meals eaten at local restaurants per person...
CS is more than likely going to be the home of the new Champions Bowl matchup between Big 12 and SEC...AND perhaps another rotating semifinal or even National BCS Championship game in next couple of years...
And we havent even talked about the 8 home games for the Boys each year
and the residual income that they produce....
I would CONSERVATIVELY guess that Arlington will have recouped their investment in a couple more years, 3 at the very most.
BTW....the tax-payer portion of cost percentage is 27%..(325 million of 1.2 billion)

Looks like money well spent at that point.

The tax-payers had to fund their portion of the stadium for 30 years. The payoff will not be as you say.

Texas Stadium was better placed in Irving, three major freeways, great visibility and access and lots of raw land that say vacant and is still empty. Stadiums generate fees, like parking, some sales tax increases are about the only benefit.

In the spirit of the NFL Season about to start I am attaching a clip from You-Tube, this has to be one of the best referee explanations of all time for a penalty. And whatever team you root for, enjoy the season, have some fun. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!

The bonds were 20 year bonds that City of Arlington issued, and according to
this link

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/cowbo...adium-9172.ece

the bonds are well on their way to being paid off early, perhaps even as early as 10 years (just as the Rangers BallPark bonds were)....

Not trying to prolong a pissing match with anyone, I just get bothered when statements like "Arlington Taxpayers" built Jerry World for him, they are a gross generalization...And opponents do not consider all of the events, revenue and infrastructure that are all beneficial to the city and area.

If you hate Jerry, thats one thing....personally I thing he is a great owner, but a Average to below average GM...And viewed simply as a business venture, Cowboys Stadium has to be viewed as a pretty darn big success.

But, the most important thing, and looks like midgwrestler agrees, is that it is
football time....College and NFL, lets get it on!
And it looks like the Rangers are gonna keep the weekdays filled for us for a couple more months as welll.....Great time to be a Sports Fan!!!

You don't have to bash the Cowboys, they do it to themselves....
