Since I've lived in and around "Ground Zero" for most of my life, I have grown to appreciate the concept of "Preemptive First Strike"!

Thanks for the chuckle this morning--I am sitting on a bench just outside of Ground Zero as I sip my second cup of coffee. By the way, it is being renovated and has one of those generic "reopening soon" signs.

The early days of ICBM's and the concept of strike launches reminded me of the "rain of arrows' in the old medieval days...



"Ground Zero" was an "expanded" area...especially with MIRVs ... although in the "early days" the "independently targetable" functions needed improvement ... particularly from the Soviet.
