They may "spell" it right, but a lot of guys sure don't understand what BBW means.

Default And we have

to, too, and two.

'To' is a preposition.
'Too' means 'also'.
'Two' is a quantity.

I agree with JustMe68 about using "apostrophe s" to make a word plural instead of showing possession. That drives me nut's!

Ridiculous spelled as "rediculous". "Rediculous" only applies if you're referring to Jessica on True Blood.

I don't mind the misspellings much, the misuse bothers me. Too also means more than enough, as in I ate too much."

Minor - a person under the state's legal age.
Miner - a person who digs stuff out of the ground.

Using z instead of s

It's crazy to me to think a lot of teachers don't cover some basics to at least make their students APPEAR somewhat functional. If I get an email at work with any of the following mistakes, especially if they're habitual, it's hard for me to take anything they have to say seriously:

-Homonym mixing, as mentioned early in the thread - their vs there, hear vs here.
-The fact that a lot is two words and "funner" is not a word.
-Ending sentences with a preposition. Being from the south I don't judge too harshly on this in conversation, but come on man, in the workplace you have to step it up a notch.
-Subject/verb agreement. "That's the way baseball go"? "That's the way my hair grow"? See any interview with Emmit Smith or Wash. And speaking of Wash, Really? A guy who has one of only 32 jobs of its kind in a multi-billion $ business and he can't get a goddamn English tutor a few hours a week? Sheesh.

"I seen" when it should be "I saw" also irritates.

I hope people don't take this thread the wrong way. Most of us don't write everyday and over the years lose what we learned in school. This site has been a good refresher for me to keep up with my writing skills. Like I've said before, people perceive you by the way you communicate. I think everyone should take a little extra effort to look up a word if they're not sure how to spell it. In the sheme of things it's no big deal here, but in keeping your mind sharp it is important. It will benefit you some day.

It's never too late to learn.

Hobbyist not Hobbiest. If you're gonna do it, you should know how to spell it.
