I haven't thought about those in years
when I was in the first grade, the shoes I wore to school had no soles, it was just my feet on the ground , sort of like the cars fred flintstone used to drive
I would take the gray backing off big chief tablets and steal tape from the class room and tape the backing from the inside of my shoes
it wouldn't last long especially if it rained and also I couldn't play during recess because running, well that just was something I couldn't do in that predicament
