the last year has been kind to her, physically. I wonder if her Attorneys didn't strongly suggest she go on a physical rehabilitation, of sorts, to help Jurors see her more favorably when trial time arrived.

She can always become a stripper or cuddle gal if she can't be a cop again.

Of course they did. And they used focus groups to dress her and judge her hairstyle, too. Or at least they did if she paid them enough.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about when it comes to the law.

If she is found NOT GUILTY of MURDER,

this city is going to burn from riots like Los Angeles did in 1992

after the 4 L.A.P.D. officers involved in the beating of Rodney King were found not guilty:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_Los_Angeles_riots

Given that Dallas is short 500+/- police officers, no surprises there. This plays nicely into the exhaustion defense.

I would expect to see rioting regardless of whatever verdict comes out of the Guyger trial.

I think everyone agrees that she is guilty but guilty of what exactly? Murder or Manslaughter? Manslaughter, no doubt, but she's being charged with Murder - Capital Murder.
It’s my understanding that first-degree murder is defined as an unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated, meaning that it was committed after planning or "lying in wait" for the victim.
Most states also adhere to a legal concept known as the "felony murder rule," under which a person commits first-degree murder if any death (even an accidental one) results from the commission of certain violent felonies, such as: Arson, Burglary, Kidnapping, Rape and Robbery.
State laws categorizing murders into first, second and possibly third degrees generally require that first degree murders include three basic elements
Willfulness;
Deliberation; and
Premeditation.
Can they prove all this?
Some states also require "malice aforethought" as an element, though states differ as to how malice must be shown and whether this is a separate requirement from willful, deliberate and premeditated taking of human life. Most states also enumerate certain kinds of killings as first degree murders without need to prove intent, deliberation and premeditation.
Not all states divide murder into degrees. In some places, the top level murder crime is called by another name, such as "capital murder."
In terms of willfulness, first degree murderers must have the specific intent to end a human life.
Under many state laws, perpetrators of 1st degree murder must have acted with malice or "malice aforethought." Malice generally includes an evil disposition or purpose and an indifference to human life.
We can quote the laws and even case law to each other, but it's up to the jury to decide.

why is that? if she is found guilty of pre-mediated Murder, you still expect rioting? from who?

I think the opposite.. if Amber is found guilty of, say, "only" Manslaughter, or even if she is acquitted, I don't think there will be ANY rioting. think about it.. when has Dallas, Texas ever rioted? well, there was that mini-riot that occurred when the 2 Live Crew cancelled their performance after the Promoter refused to pay them, but... when has Dallas ever rioted because of a perceived Social/Criminal injustice? why would the Guyger verdict be the first time?

If people are interested in this case they need to ready Amber’s case files in the Dallas County Portal under Criminal Documents. Case # F 1800737 which is public information.

The grand jury did not act on her manslaughter case but she was indicted for murder because of the 09/06/18 shooting. According to these online records she did not receive a warrant for her arrest until Dec 2018 and she apparently posted the required 10% ($30,000) of the $300,000 bail. According to court documents she went on a Royal Caribbean cruise on 09/23/18 to 03/04/18. I would guess her legal fees will exceed $150,000. That’s a lot of money on a cops salary huh. I have a problem with her not being arrested immediately after the shooting. Toxicology reports could have been collected that might have been favorable to her defense.

Oddly these records include letters from various convicts in prison to the DA’s office and one is offering serve her prison term.

Rather than speculate I encourage people to read her file which is public information.

Hey at least she didn’t get knocked up and pull that sympathy card. She made a huge mistake. Apparently she’s a little trigger happy but I think the real issue is how DPD and Dallas County failed to act quickly after this shooting. Not bringing her in for questioning and a blood test immediately after the shooting is on Dallas.

I think they changed the procedures a few years back and police offers cannot be questioned for 24 hours.

They did manage to 'find' marijuana in the guys apartment very quickly. Before they discovered he was a good Christian boy with a mother who was a politician.

Apparently she agreed to go into custody / questioning approximately 3 days after the incident. I did not read all of the court documents but according to early media reports a search warrant of the man’s residence did yield 10.4 grams (about a hand full ) of weed. This report did not stipulate who it belonged to but we can assume she tested negative. Was it in her possession at the time of the shooting or his? The bag would yield fingerprints in most cases.

Was the guy really the ideal “Christian” as portrayed in the media? Probably not. Did he have a prior conflict or provoke Amber Guyer? Unless they subpoena phone records or produce a witness that says otherwise the man most likely did not contribute to her poor judgement.

I get it. She needed to leave town or go into protective custody before someone wacked her but the conditions of her bond would have stipulated that she not leave Dallas County. Instead she went on a cruise according to court documents.

The bottom line is that Dallas County screwed this up. They did not process her toxicology per regulations. Authorities most likely knew she left the County (but she did return after her cruise). If an angry mob riots in the streets they should be upset because of the sloppy investigation and a bias for a police officer or for pinning murder on an incompetent cop when it should be manslaughter (if these two had no conflict and if she had no intent).

Either way DPD and Dallas County should be scrutinized because of the way this was handled. I have a huge problem with this. She had the right to bail out even by posting $30,000 but the average Joe Citizen (white or black) would not be given the luxury of 3 days or even one day to make a statement. The 24 hour rule very likely pertains to a shooting while on duty. She was off duty at the time of this incident So this rule needs to be further defined for the public. And $300,000 for bail on her first arrest? Granted she did kill a man but this bail is high in comparison to similar violations. I’m sure the bondsman is relieved she came back from her vacation.

And last but not least she is kind of hot.

Interesting information. I assume you meant 03/04/19.
Damn, that's one long cruise. A 6-monther.
I agree that they should have done a toxicology report and arrested her sooner. I would think a toxicology report would be required in any police officer shooting, immediately.
