I suppose by your interpretation of the English language the use of the word "development" refers to "distribution" even when the word "distribution" (or some form representing that operation) exists in the same sentence. And when "Time" published the various estimates of "funding" to various pharma companies it was just for shipping the vaccines and Time lied yet again.

https://time.com/5921360/operation-w...cine-spending/

You probably aren't fully aware of the co-existence of the pharmas with the Federal government aka Congress and how they have enjoyed a sweet relationship by funding various candidates who have professed their appreciation for the pharmas to being handsomely reimbursed for their efforts. You also probably aren't fully aware of the "funding" that occurs when alleged "private" companies invest in pharma developments that have political and social benefit to the U.S.

FAUCI is the poster child for taxpayer funded operations that have personal gains spread among those who assure protected efforts. That might be why he is touted to be the single highest paid government employee in the U.S. .... to keep his fat lips closed, which you probably recognize is a challenge for him.

BTW: I sincerely hope you had a enjoyable July 4th --- The U.S. birthday celebration.

Tucker Carlson had an interesting segment last night where in Ohio the average age of death from COVID was 86. The average age of death in Ohio was 83. So, the people who died from Covid lived 3 years longer!

Similar statistic from England. Forgot the specific numbers.

The numbers are a scam. They'll try to extend the variants along until the 2022 election.

Sue China.

Pandemic is over, if you want it.

I believe it was also on Tucker that the comparative stats for other causes of death were reviewed showing they exceeded that for Covid19 ... heart disease and cancer.

Yes, my memory is good!

CNBC ... would probably keep the whiningCommunistSocialistLiber alDimWits happy.

Yes, Wiki is different/better than Bribart. Wiki is not political. Bribart is right wing.
What venture capitalist? It was funded by we the people. The Covid vaccine was their first product to go to market. If you think Wiki isn’t political your delusional. BTW, who is Bribart?

What venture capitalist? I gave you the link. I have to read it for you too? You're slipping Bino. The venture capitalist with an owenership stake as far back as 2013 was "Flagship Ventures" have you ever heard of them? LOL. They also got money from their research partner Astro Zeneca.

No Kidding the CoVid M-RNA vaccine was their first revenue generating product. So how did they make payroll from 2010 - 2020? Flagship Ventures was one source and Astro Zenca. Not all of the private financing was communicated by the Moderna CEO. The money that Trump gave them came long after R&D was completed.

You misspoke when you said the USA funded Moderna in the early years.

From the wiki link. If you had bothered to read it you would have seen it.

From the link:

The Cambridge, MA-based biotech startup, which is attempting to make injectable messenger RNA molecules that trigger production of protein drugs in the body, has raised a whopping $110 million in new equity financing.

Moderna isn’t disclosing who is doing the bankrolling this time, but Flagship Ventures remains the only venture capital firm with an ownership stake, CEO Stephane Bance says.

You didn’t read my Forbes link. Moderna received a few billion in taxpayer dollars. Without it, they would have burned thru the VC money.

He wrote "For months I've asked - everyone I talk too if they're vaccinated & what their experience was. Nearly all had scary symptoms, some terrifying." Now that just sounds nutty. He goes on to say, about the vaccine spike-protein, which he says is produced by all current vaccines, "So if it's safe, that will have been a very lucky accident." He believes the spike-protein "not only crosses the blood-brain barrier, but tatters it, opening the central nervous system to toxins and pathogens." This he says induces severe headaches, brain fog, and potentially impaired cognition, clotting and vascular damage to the brain, and strokes. I'm not an immunologist, but applied to the population at large this sounds like bull shit.

He may be right or he may be wrong about gain of function research and Ivermectin, I don't know. But he sure sounds over the top on vaccine risk. I'll take the word of mainstream medicine and the CDC. Mainstream MEDICINE, not the mainstream media. There's a difference.
I'm making things up? No sir, it is you who is doing so by making wild claims about Weinstein's position on this particular vaccine in order to discredit him. To say that he's afraid of vaccines is a lie. He has concerns about a vaccine that that was rushed through truncated clinical trials and given legal protection in terms of liability. What could possibly go wrong?
Weinstein also recognized the alarmist tone of his first tweet in the thread in question and has made additional tweets since to clarify. BTW, Weinstein is not part of the media.
As far as his "tweet storm" goes, you post more here on a daily basis so there's another attempt to discredit him that falls flat.
Your quotation of his one tweet leaves a lot of context out that was included in his original post. Try this on for size:

"The key difference involves vaccine spike-protein being “locked open”. That was done to give immune cells access, not to render it safe. So if it's safe, that will have been a very lucky accident. And the logical presumption goes the other way. The precautionary principle applies." Not quite so over the top, eh?

As far as his claims about vaccine side effects related to the spike protein and the BBB, do you think he made that up? Had you looked a little closer at the "tweet storm" you might have seen these links.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33053430/

More on the spike protein here:

https://www.canadiancovidcareallianc...full_guide.pdf

see page 20

And if you want to argue the qualifications of folks commenting about the science, who are the people quoted in your fact check from Reuters? Sabina Vohra Miller? How is she qualified? Anna Durbin, a professor of International Health? Color me unimpressed. Is that the best you have? Crikey!
As for Ivermectin, Weinstein's position is based on him seeing field studies and clinical work that speaks to the efficacy and safety of the drug while there has been resistance to it based solely on it being associated with President Cheeto Dust. He thinks we should use all the arrows in our quiver to fight the disease. That sounds pretty reasonable to me. What say you?

To sum up it seems like you don't really know that much about Weinstein or what his message really is.
And as far as me changing the topic in this thread? Fuck that!
There's an old adage you are proving true, "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him think."

The VC and Astra Zeneca gave more money than the government. Your scientist from Forbes didn't even mention them. The link I had in post #306 mentions all three.

It's the other way around. Moderna would not have made payroll without the funding from the VC and Astra Zeneca.

From the link that was posted already

Taken together, Moderna has now raked in $415 million in cash through a combination of this investment, prior venture capital from Flagship, government support from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and largesse from its pharmaceutical partner, AstraZeneca.

BTW who was president in 2010 when this government agency gave money to Moderna? That would be President Obama.

So ... has it morphed from "no taxpayers' money" to "less tax money"?

Then what was all the bullshit about "no tax" money? This is just an academic question and not one I would anticipate you being able to accurately answer, but ...

... just from where did this so-called "venture capitalist" get the dough?

And we're discussing the production and manufacture of the vaccine, right?

So was someone working on a vaccine for Covid19 between 2010 and 2019?

Obaminable cut off Federal funding for the Chinese lab back in 2014 with FakiFauci standing around. FakiFauci then started tossing money at the lab by 2017 from his "funded" private pharma-research group. FakiFauci would starve to death if he didn't have Federal funding at least in a sock somewhere.

A government agency called DARCA gave Moderna 25 million in 2013. Astra Zeneca gave Moderna 240 million in 2013. The point is Moderna got more money from private sources than it did the government.

Someone "Moderna" was working on using M-RNA to produce proteins. Antibodies are proteins. SarsCov2 virus was not identified in 2010. So they were not working on making an antibody specific to SarsCoV2 back starting in 2010. The M-RNA contains the message (the amino acid sequence needed to make a specific protein or antibody). The message to make the antibody for Sars CoV2 came sometime after the Sars CoV2 virus was identified and the amino acid sequence of the SPIKE protein portion of the virus became known.

From the link previously posted.

In September 2013, the company reported that it was able to improve heart function in mice and enhance their long-term survival with a "redirection of their [stem cell] differentiation toward cardiovascular cell types" in a significant step for regenerative medicine.[23][24] In October 2013, the company was awarded up to $25 million by DARPA to develop messenger RNA therapeutics.[25] In November 2013, the company raised $110 million of equity financing.[23]

You may not like wiki. It does a better job of itemizing the sources of funding for Moderna than the scientist who wrote the Forbes article that Bino posted. Clearly Moderna raised more money from private sources than it did the from two agencies of the Federal Government for R&D and to make payroll, starting in 2010.

If 330 million people got infected you are talking about 1 million deaths. If there were no shut downs and social distancing more people would have become infected. You republicans didn't want shut downs.

.003 * 330,000,000 = 990,000

Seasonal flu kills 50,000 people a year. It would take Seasonal flu ten years to kill 500,000 people. CoVid is no joke bro.

How do you know Covid-19 killed 500,000 people, just because CNN told you so?
