Another, more serious point, if i may.
The same Conservative media that had you guys convinced that Romney was poised to clean Obama's clock is the same Conservative media that tells you Obama hasn't released his birth certificate, or that he was lying about what happened in Libya, or that he spent his entire first term apologizing for America etc etc etc.
In other words, they don't deal in reality. They lie to you. Plain and simple. And they lie to you because you eat it up. You demand it. It's why you watch them. It's what you want to hear. It's your fault. Period.
Back in '04, i remember Dailykos telling people on his site to shut up when it came to discussing whether Bush stole the election in Ohio or not. The reason he told people to shut up about it was because, unless Democrats were honest with themselves about why they lost, they'd continue to lose. I give you 2008 and 2012.
Here's a good article that makes this point far better than i could. I don't expect you to read it, i suspect you ain't got the guts to hear the truth, but you conservatives would be wise to pay it heed. Because until you decide to deal in reality, you'll continue to lose elections.

The class warfare argument made this election I believe has really divided this country. This class warfare needs to end but I am afraid it may just be heating up.
As for your second point time will tell doove. Obama ran his first campaign on reducing the deficit in half from George Bush. Bush added 4 trillion over 8 years or about 500 billion per year. So that meant it should have been 250 billion per year for his 4 years or 1 trillion. He increased it by 6 trillion. He was off a little. Now you listen to the Democrat talking points and say Romney would have been higher over the next 4 years. It is something we will never know. But tell me where govt projections are ever right. In a year Obama expenses start kicking in. We will see how close the projections from 2 years ago will be. I for one am very worried about that. I believe you will hear very soon how the deficit limit will need to be raised to 18 trillion. I think they shoud ask what they need for the entire 4 years and let the public see that number.
The market is down today, I'm still in cash so I say let it fall and lets get some good inflation going and higher interest rates so the cash can earn a decent rate of return. Copied right out of my 1% playbook.
|
Your debt and deficit numbers are wrong.Bush added 5.5 trillion in 8 years. The deficit from his last budget, ending in sep. of 2009 was 1.2 trilion. Not included was the 250 billion surplus he squandered. about half of the debt incurred over the last 4 years is interest on the national debt inherited from republicans. Republican deficit spending, the gift that keeps giving, but not in a good way. Didn't bush say he was going to balance the budget as well? I guess he didn't do so well either. But as cheney would say,"deficits don't matter".

Thank you doove for watching out for our party.
And I totally agree with hearing what one wants to hear. They were very convincing to me with the poll predictions and what was happening on the ground where I really thought it would be a Romney victory. The data given and the previous years polls prior to an election being as off as they had been, maybe it was wishful thinking. You believe what you believe. When you go to a Bills game you still cheer even when you know they don't have a chance.
I will read your article and get back to you. I think I said somewhere that I do on occassion watch Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz to hear the other side. What I find amazing, truely amazing, is just how different the stories are and the direction they go in when reporting between the nbc, msnbc, abc, cbs reporters and the Fox news reporting. If there is a story for one there should be a story for all. Stick to the facts, Ask the questions people want to know and report the answers. Back in the day, news reporters wanted to scoop the other stations with a story no one else was reporting. Remember Watergate? CBS of years ago would have posted the interview answer they had right after the debate.
We can debate all this all over again but what is the point. Obama has been reelected and is all of ours President. My wish looking forward is that as citizens we keep an open mind and speak out when there is a wrong. Stay active in the political discussion and question our political leaders when necessary. Although my outlook for the younger generation may be very bleek, I still believe we live in the greatest country in the world and wish all of us the best. God help us all.

I cheer for them because on any given Sunday...
A better analogy would be listening to the post game show that blames the referees for the 35 point loss because it makes you feel better than listening to the post game show that is telling you your team sucks.

More along those lines:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...lection-mostly
Still, there are some pollsters who are going to have to go back to the drawing board after this election. Last week, I wrote about how Public Policy Polling and Rasmussen differed on the winner in Colorado, Florida, New Hampshire, Ohio and Virginia. Rasmussen eventually found a shift in New Hampshire towards the president and a tie in Ohio. In all five cases, it seems that Public Policy Polling (PPP) had the correct winner all along. They continue a fine record of polling, despite a Democratic affiliation.
This marks the second election cycle in a row, however, in which Rasmussen has shown a serious Republican bias. They also were right-leaning in their 2008 state polls. That's a far fall for a pollster who was so accurate in 2004 and 2006.
Democrats want the truth, because only then can they properly deal with the reality of it.

IT IS ALL OVER! 47%. This just proves to me that this country has reached the point of no return. We now have a majority of people who feel the government should take care of everything for them for free. Guess what. The system can not support itself this way forever. Why should I continue to contribute to a system that is going to just keep taxing me to death and giving it to some undeserving person. To hell with that. I am now going to join the NOW 48% and I am going to leech off of the system every chance I get. I might as well start sooner than later, this way I can maximize my return on free shit. Where do I sign up for my obama phone? Lets see..... What programs can I start signing up for? doove.... where is all the free shit?

What makes you think that everybody who voted for Obama wants to be taken care of? Makes no sense. I take care of my own self as do many others. SMDH. You guys sound like those redneck hillbillies in the Texas side of this board.

It's a mindset that holds no water or has any logic. Eventually it will reach a point when it can not sustain itself. I think we have reached that point, so I am going to jump on the taker bandwagon and take every thing I can get my hands on. Hope and change my ass. Lets take this country back about 50 years when we were number one in everything.
