My gentleman friend and I visited Friends last weekend - first time for both of us. We were newbies/shy but, felt comfortable very quickly.

We opted for Friends for the above mentioned reasons. We would rather be around people our own age (YOUNG 50's, thankyouverymuch) than contend with a popularity/beauty contest :-/

Tho' it wasn't very crowded, for a Friday..we both had a great time...*wiggling eyebrows*

Some people were VERY friendly *meow* and try as I may - I couldn't get any ladies to gently 'initiate' my shy-guy - but, there is always a next time!

So, we did visit the back room and I did expect it to be a bit more 'private' but, uhhhh...it sure offered a lot of ummmm 'scenery', for lack of a better term - and that is where I will leave that...hehe.

I recommend it, if anything, for the experience of having said you did it, at least once. You can always enjoy the music and dance, and socialize with your clothes on.

I thought I would be painfully shy but, I managed to work up the nerve (after emboldening myself with a teensy bit of 3...4...glasses of white wine) to sport my high heels and black corsette. Timid was not an issue that night *wink*

That's my take and I can't wait till my 'friend' is in town again

Sweets, You're welcome to accompany us anytime.. it's more fun with folks you attend with.. Fridays are the slowest day of any "swing" club.. Saturdays are better. We're going this w/e if you care to try again. lol The only problem with that is you will be late getting home.. our own little after party ...

Nuglet is certainly correct. Saturday parties are usually much better attended and wilder.
